Madame Web is officially the worst Spider-Man movie of all time, according to Rotten Tomatoes, even worse than Morbius. To be clear, Madame Web is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony owns the rights to the Spider-Man universe and all it’s connected characters. When Sony and Disney teamed up to include Spider-Man into the MCU with ‘Homecoming’ and ‘No Way Home’, there was hope that this would lead to a new “golden era” of Spider-Man movies. To be clear, the main Spider-Man titles have proven popular at the box office, while the spin-offs such as Venom, Mobius and now Madame Web have not. So, what makes Madem Web so bad? According to Screen Rant, it boils down to one-dimensional characters, bad dialog, a terrible villain, and confusing and arbitrary lore. Ultimately, Madame Web is a movie created by studio execs, not a passionate director with a strong vision, with the goal of raking in more cash for Sony. Madame Web does have its funny moments but not enough to be entertaining.
