Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine and affects 2-3 million people in the US. Did you know that you can develop Scoliosis (and lower back pain) through chronic tension patterns? Co-host Alex Corey was informed he had Grade 1 Scoliosis in his early 20s via an unrelated X-ray and has dealt with lower back pain when awareness slips from posture, mobility, and core strength ever since.Get out of Pain: https://thekneepainguru.comHealth, Nutrition, Lifestyle: https://cultivated-change.comComella Foundation Newsletter: https://thecomellafoundation.org/Make a Tax-Deductible Donation: https://thecomellafoundation.org/donate/

Inflammation is a natural response of the body to injury or infection, and it is characterized by redness, swelling, heat, and pain. Inflammation is caused by the release of chemical mediators, such as histamine and prostaglandins, which sensitize nerve endings and increase blood flow to the affected area.

This increased blood flow brings immune cells and other substances that can help to repair or remove the injury or infection. However, the increased blood flow and nerve sensitivity also cause pain. In chronic pain conditions, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation plays a significant role in the development and maintenance of pain.

Attempts to address pain from a sympathetic (stress-based) state may not full reveal the root cause of the inflammation.

Sometimes specific protocols or modalities such as deep breathing, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), or induced relaxation can help us even recognize how dis-regulated we are. After coming back down to a more baseline or foundational state of our neurology, we can then start to feel subtle signs of inflammation such as brain fog, lethargy, impaired memory recall or poor cognitive performance, digestive discomfort, etc and begin a gentle trial and error process within our neurology.
