Went back to first episode and am enjoying catching up

After listening to the audio of Shannon's second book, I discovered the podcast. And so, thanks to the wonder that is podcasting, I was able to jet back in time to the early episodes and begin listening from the beginning. What a joy. Thank you for all your (very, very) hard work Shannon. You have created an amazing and lovely body of work.

Our hostess has a sure and steady hand on this production giving the product fantastic production value quality. She has a lovely, lively voice. These two qualities just make listening a pleasure.

Add to that the that she is whip smart, full of energy, and simply brimming with curiosity about her topics and the result is awesome.

Finally, from those times when she has a guest for the show I find that Shannon has to be the most skilled interviewer that I have ever heard. And I mean ever and across all platforms.

She approaches her interview shows exquisitely well prepared. Always. Prepared in knowing the subject's work very well, even researching above and beyond their most recent book or show topic. Then she effortlessly (or so it appears!) and skillfully steers the conversation with an array of extremely intelligent questions. Finally, she responds to her guest's answers, like a dance partner, following, yet holding her own, and thinks on her feet with agility and sheer aplomb. It is this genuine responsiveness that puts her interview skills across the finish line first. It is this that makes the interview not only a pleasure but also, in a way, sort of a learning experience for those who study how to improve their own conversation skill. While I do usually enjoy the solo shows a bit more, the interview shows stand out in showcasing Shannon's skill and professionalism.

Thank you, again, for all your hard work, Shannon. (Although you do make it look effortless!)

Surprising in the best way

When I heard the name and tag line of this podcast, I admittedly had a bit of a judgement that it might be “uppity” or “snooty” (silly me!) but since listening to a few dozen episodes I’ve found myself making small adjustments in my day to day life that have really improved the quality of my days! I’ve made some adjustments to my budget to make room for small luxuries, I’ve been paying attention to how I structure my days and rhythms, and I’ve edited my wardrobe down to the quality essentials I come back to again and again. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do much of what she suggests as a stay at home mom of two with a part time job, but I’ve found a lot of the ideas to be easy shifts despite the difference of my lifestyle from hers. Recommend for sure!
