CJ Talks to L.M. Archer
Today CJ Talks to Lena
Lena grew up in a 'holler' in the middle of nowhere WV. Her family
didn't have a lot of money and didn't always have food, but my
parents did the best they could in raising their children
Lena was brought up in church, being taught from the perspective
of a Baptist. She always knew she was a bit different than the
rest of my family, and always walked to the beat of her own drum.
Despite Lena's circumstances, she wanted to go to college.
Lena's parents forbid this activity as it was for 'rich folks'.
This didn't deterred Lena as she used the money from her 17th
birthday to apply to a college that was five hours away from home.
Lena's parents were displeased and told her she wasted her money.
A month or so later, she received my acceptance letter. Without
her parents permission or support, Lena packed my bags and moved
away to college just a week after she had turned 18.
This move really shaped Lena into the person She is today.
Lena had turmoil in the beginning but found herself eventually
graduating with two bachelor's degrees, one in religious studies
and the other in anthropology. She went on to complete her Masters
in public administration. Lena was first drawn to writing as a
way to express her feelings when oftentimes, she found that she
couldn’t say them out loud. That’s why her writing is more on the
dark side of the romance spectrum. Len tends to write in a way
that showcases real scenarios and events. Lena's books tackle
mental health, moral values, religion and many other topics that
are raw and real. Lena is not afraid to make my readers look at
the darker side of humanity and question the very foundation of
life and existence.

Her son Andrew, 14, has special needs. We, as moms, always talk about how the kids are doing and give each other advice on how to handle certain situations regarding the kids. But not very many of us talk about the real shit moms go through. How it changes us from the inside out. How it can be both a blessing and a curse at the same time, the innermost thoughts of how we think when things are at their worst and then feel guilty.
