Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 88 How to Deal With Adversity in Our Dog Businesses

Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 88 How to Deal With Adversity in Our Dog Businesses

This episode is definitely a different one. In this episode I get really vulnerable and open up about the major challenges I've had in my dog training business. From being betrayed to being the one who betrays, from huge financial loss and major mistakes, to massive burnout and nearly halting the business on many occasions, to being the victim of fraud, and so much more I'm going to share with you a part of my journey that I haven't shared with people before.

Yes, part of this episode was therapy for me. I needed a way to talk about my challenges. But, even more, I hope it helps other business owners in this dog space. Other people are going through the challenges you're going through. Other people struggle. Other people feel pain from their business. While I don't have a perfect business, I share in this episode how we attempt, and sometimes succeed, in turning adversity into progress.

Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 87 Zoom Room Revisited- 10 Years Later

Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 87 Zoom Room Revisited- 10 Years Later

Ten years ago we talked with Mark Van Wye of Zoom Room. It was a great show and new franchisees of Zoom Room actually came on board because of that show. But a lot has changed in 10 years and the company is now franchising all over the country.

There is so much for the pet business owner to learn from this episode including how to acquire new customers at will, how to create systems for a pet business, how to predictably grow, and how to thrive in these unique times. This show is a can't-miss.

Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 86 Pet Retail Riches- How Money is Made By Going Retail

Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 86 Pet Retail Riches- How Money is Made By Going Retail

Basel Nassar was one of the original founders of Greek Gods Yogurt, which is now a multi-million-dollar brand sold in grocery stores all over the world. After selling that company for a sizable fortune, Basel decided to start another company, Boss Dog Brand, after he adopted a dog named Kelby who refused to eat. Kelby was a picky eater and had digestive issues, so Basel, understanding the yogurt industry, created a yogurt full of probiotics for dogs. Kelby loved it and soon the company began in late 2018.

In this episode, I pick Basel's brain to learn how to get a product into retailers, how to thrive during the pandemic, how the money is made in retail, and even how someone with a product idea can get it launched. This was a fun one to be able to talk with someone with this level of entrepreneurial background.

Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 83 Automation or Optimization

Six Figure Dog Business - Episode 83 Automation or Optimization

I LOVE automation. It makes my life easier in running my businesses.

In this episode, though, automation takes on a new light with pet business software expert, Shane Whelan.

Shane's take on automation is that it should be more of an OPTIMIZATION process where the human touch enters the sales cycle right when it needs to be there. We need to OPTIMIZE the process for following up with our prospects and how to take tasks off our plate while not losing the personal touch that is so important in the pet business. If you've been hoping to automate/optimize more of your business to make life easier and make more sales, this is a must-listen
