After a lightning strike, American private investigator James Frost begins to hear people’s "inner song" and switches careers, tailoring ballads for clients with relationship woes. On a chance encounter with Zarah Chandio, a Pakistani children’s book author, her "song" causes him to lose his gift. But because when she is nearby his gift returns, he hires her as a silent partner. He gets more than he bargained for, though, as she has a tic for blurting out clients’ love dilemmas in the form of children's fables.
