Our show provides practical and real advice for entrepreneurs and people working in startups or tech companies. Jarrod spent more than a decade building a business from the ground up while pioneering an entirely new industry. The lessons he learned, people he met, and actions he took proved invaluable and now we want to share these stories with an audience. Starting a business can be a little bit like running a barbecue restaurant. Customers come in, order food, and appreciate the simplicity of it all. The customer’s transaction was quick and easy, but the preparation for that moment was immense. We understand that anything worth having takes a ton of time and work. We love working hard, watching the tech industry, and eating great food, and our show is a platform for these interests to collide.

The Real Nickolas Natali ,

Rockstar Podcast

This is by far one of my favorite podcasts. It’s unique in its positioning and drops knowledge bombs without the formal feel that many business podcasts lean toward. Highly, highly recommend.

Amazing show!

I am so glad I came across this show! I’ve taken so many actionable and practical nuggets of advice to implement. Love tuning in and love the concept of the show.

If only I’d had this podcast 20 years ago…

Halfway through listening to Emily Ley who is 10+ years younger than I, has young children (like I did when I was her age,) and is a crazy successful entrepreneur doing things I wished for, wanted and tried to do for so many years but with so many starts and stops and rethinks and side-streets. As I listened, I thought—this is making me feel really bad about myself—it’s what I should have heard 20 years ago before I started on my own creative/entrepreneurial journey. I turned it off for a moment to keep myself from having a full-on cry.

But when I pulled it together, I turned it back on. That’s when she starts talking about all the things I realized I HAD done right, like finally giving myself grace, understanding that there is not one perfect version of a mom—or a designer/artist (which is what my career has always been about,) realizing that the things I chose to do and when I chose to do them had everything to do with what I could do in that “season” of my life, with the knowledge and the time I had. I understood then that I was NOT a person who could put all the “chairs” out. (Even though I desperately wanted to be that person.) I understood early-on that in order for me to be the person I wanted to be for my kids and my husband—I had to put just a few chairs out and sometimes fold them up and lean them against the wall. (That’s just me—what I could do.) My kids are older and almost ready to move on now. I have a clearer idea of what I want the rest of my work life to look like —a 2nd act (well, 3rd or 4th!) — I want this work life to be something I can do for the rest of my life and something that can supplement my husband’s retirement with. I want to be able to look at what I do and know it makes a difference in the lives of others—brings joy to them each day. And I want it to truly be the thing that brings ME joy.

I have the years and the clarity now to know what my “glass balls” are. I learned years ago how to say “no” to things that aren’t important and that take away from the things that are.

So, I’ll keep listening and hope to get some more gems of advice and clarity, since essentially I believe my business and my work has been “slow-cooking” for a good, long time. I think the mouth-watering, tastiest part is yet to come. I really believe this and hope for it. I’m looking forward to learning more about what I’m doing right and what I could be doing better to make my dreams a reality. Great job on the podcast guys!!
I love it!❤️
