Dear Friend, Do you love your dog like your own child? And do you worry, deep down that your dog might not live the long, happy life he or she deserves? If you are interested in your dog living to a ripe old age, AND staying young and vibrant, this will be the most important message you will ever read. As a dog, getting older is tough. The joyful run becomes a stiff hobble. Leaping up on the couch is literally a pain. Laying down comes with an aching groan. Running down the stairs becomes a worry for me every time the door bell rings. As your dog ages, once easy movements become sore pains. Cartilage on their joints disappear, and the cartilage cells die. This creates terrible inflammation—“osteophytes” appear—bone deteriorates, pain spirals out of control, and muscles atrophy. These problems are life-threatening and dangerous, but I promise I can help you restore your dog’s movement, relieve joint pain, and help your dog feel years younger!

    Marilyn Pianelli

    Marilyn Pianelli

On today’s episode, Cody speaks with Marilyn Pianelli of Headlight Harness. Marilyn shares her story of how she and her husband created the Headlight Harness and how this revolutionary product will help keep you and your dog safe at night during walks.

Marilyn Pianelli has spent many successful years in finance and sales and is now enthusiastic about her most recent venture as an entrepreneur in the pet industry. With a Finance and Computer and Information Sciences degree from Rider University,Marilyn is currently the Director of Broker Dealer and Institutional Sales at Alternative Executions, while pursuing her brand Headlight Harness LLC; an innovative and game-changing product for pet owners.

In 2014, Marilyn had a frightening experience as she was walking her dogs late one night. Her Black Terrier managed to wiggle free from his harness to chase a cat. He charged across the street and was almost struck by an oncoming car that never saw him due to the dark, suburban neighborhood that had poorly lit streets. Thankfully her beloved dog was safe, but Marilyn quickly realized that this is a scenario that plays out all too often and many pet families are not as fortunate. She also became aware of the great risk and danger that low light conditions and poor visibility puts both pets and their owners in.

Marilyn began searching for a safe lighting option to take on walks, but she soon discovered that nothing existed on the market that met her expectations. It was then that an idea sparked in her mind. Marilyn and her husband, Peter, spent the next year designing developing and producing the Headlight Harness, which provides dog owners with a clever solution to brighten up their path to see the area ahead, while simultaneously keeping both owner and dog safe.

In 2015 Headlight Harness LLC was born. Today, it has helped thousands of pet owners across the country walk safely at night. Marilyn’s creation has filled a giant void in the pet industry and continues to grow by the day. With her knowledge and skills in finance and sales along with her love for animals, there’s no doubt that the sky is the limit for Marilyn and the future of Headlight Harness!

    Turmeric Supplementation

On today’s episode, Cody speaks with Valerie Poteete. Valerie talks about her family rescue dog, Maggie, and how she inadvertently became her therapy dog, able to detect oncoming seizures. As Maggie has aged, Valarie has discovered the amazing properties of turmeric and shares her story of the amazing results Maggie has gotten with supplementation.

Valerie Poteete (aka: Penelope V. Pendragon, The WiSHing Faery) and her faithful companion Maggie travel through the Western U. S. with the Whimsical WiSH Wagon teaching kids about positive energy in wonderfully whimsical ways.

    Find out more at www.WishWagon.org

I'm Penelope V. Pendragon, the creator of the Whimsical WiSH Wagon – best described as Law of Attraction meets the Faery Realm as narrated by Dr Suess.

People call me the WiSHing Faery because I demonstrate how to get your best WiSHes to come true by ‘feeding Faeries’ (Good thoughts) and making the ‘Goblins’ (Bad thoughts) go away (It is your choice whether or not they stay)... My job is to show you the way to a better brighter day.

My stories are in verse and rhyme (though I don't rhyme all the time)

They are typically aimed at kids (the adults catch on pretty quick).

In my ‘past life’ I climbed the corporate ladder from production assistant to Creative Director, a strong presence of promotions and marketing throughout. I have a degree in television broadcasting and another in marketing communications. My graphics design skills are self taught, my super power is creativity and I use it as often as possible with everything from magnificent marketing materials to the whimsical WiSH Wagon.

I'm using all of these skills in this journey to promote World Peace.

    PupStarz Rescue

    PupStarz Rescue

PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue serving New York City and the Tri-State area.

We are dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs in public shelters who are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation and those in danger of abuse or neglect.

Because PupStarz Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our "Starz" are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await adoption into a forever home. We rely on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers to open their hearts and homes to dogs in need.

Animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. We assist dogs in distress regardless of age, breed, temperament, or a potential difficult placement. In order to care for animals in need, we are determined to keep administrative costs conservative.

Following a comprehensive adoption process, dogs are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue takes considerable care in appropriately matching and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their lives. Our non-profit remains committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We follow up with adopters to ensure a smooth transition, encourage positive training techniques, and engage in open communication to offer any additional assistance.

Finally, we strive to work with area shelters, rescues, and humane organizations to develop a supporting network of volunteers to create a better world for those who have no voice.

    CK Animal Rescue

    CK Animal Rescue

Hi, my name is Nancy Ball, Founder and President of CK Animal Rescue. I have always loved animals since I can remember. Having pets while growing up and later on when my family was home. Once our children were grown and having families of their own, I started reading about the plight of senior dogs in shelters. In August 2008, I was on a mission…..to save one senior dog from our local shelter. Senior dogs are often overlooked because potential adopters have a fear the animal will have health issues resulting in high vet bills or the senior dog may not live long and they don’t want the heartbreak. One dog caught my attention at our local shelter. His name was Oscar, a senior Collie/Retriever mix who instantly became part of our family. We adopted him within four days of seeing his gorgeous face. His personality was gentle, kind and loving. He went to work with us every day until he became ill. We lost Oscar due to kidney failure on February 1, 2010. Oscar lived a wonderful life during his time with us and we miss him every single day. Ending up in a shelter for a senior dog is devastating. This is not the way a senior dog’s life of loyal dedication and love should end. Please consider giving a senior dog a warm bed to live out the rest of his/her life.

Shortly after creating an account on Facebook, I started seeing pictures of dogs on urgent lists, meaning they had little time to be adopted or rescued. After reading plea after plea for a group of dogs in Missouri, I couldn’t sit back and do nothing. I personally sponsored the rescue of 14 dogs from a shelter in Joplin, Missouri. Another rescue came forward with the donation paid and saved all 14 dogs, 5 who later came to my home where I found wonderful families for each one.

This created a sense of urgency where I wanted to do more. After placing messages on Kijiji to ask if anyone in my area shared the same compassion as I did to form a local rescue, we had our first orientation meeting in October 2010. It has taken a lot of time and work, with the help of many dedicated volunteers, to form our new rescue organization, CK Animal Rescue. I’m very proud of our accomplishments since that first meeting where a small group of animal lovers came forward to hear what I had to say about my passion to save dogs from high kill shelters. I will be forever grateful.
