My girlfriend believes she should not have to help with any bills

My girlfriend (25 yo) believes she should not have to help with any bills in the house because I make more than her
o, my girlfriend started a business 2 years and during that time I made sure I covered all bills, expenses, groceries, etc. It’s been 2 years later now and I gave her more than enough time to save some money for herself. Recently we have been kicking off because I asked her to cover the hydro bill ($100 a month) while I cover rent ($2350), internet ($70), and groceries ( Roughly $500). As she believes she is a woman and women should not have to pay bills, and that I make a lot more than her so I have nothing to worry about. What should I do?
To add on to that, she does not want to help with no finances, but believes I have to be taking her out to dinner, parties, spending money on her, etc.
Edit: Thanks for all the input guys, think I know what I need to do. Gonna send her a link to this thread too! Never thought I’d get so many messages!!

Might have made the worst decision on my life

Might have made the worst decision on my life

my wife and I needed a secondary car. A lot of people suggested getting a fuel efficient civic, however we went into impulse mode and put a deposit on a new Lexus. We currently own a 2014 rav 4 which has no car payments. After 8 years we felt like we deserved a nice car before we turned 30. That was always my dream.

We went from not having any car payments to $1100/month, I feel like now it’s too late to get the non refundable deposit $2500 from the dealership since they put a factory order already. It’s set to arrive on July of this year. No credit checks or any questions asked.

It’s been 4 weeks now since and I don’t know how we’re going to make these payments + insurance + gas for the next 5 years. I feel like I’m getting anxious even thinking about it.

Long story short: made an impulsive decision to factory order a car and not sure how I can make $1100/month car payments… felt we deserved to drive a nice car. We rent, no kids just a pet dog.

Edit 1. The car msrp is $79000. The payments were based on a $5000 down payment and 6 year term. Sorry it was a typo, it’s 6 years / 72 months. My wage is $60/year.

Update 1. Thanks everyone for the feedback, looks like my best bet is to wait for it to arrive in June and sell it privately at same cost. So I can keep my deposit

Update 2. After the comments on the hot car market. I was able to find some one after this post, he is willing to take over the order que as it will save him the dealer markup and 1 month wait. Thanks everyone!!! I will be getting my $2500 next Friday

I have decided to buy another used rav4. 2018 model.

Navigating a Relationship when one Partner owns a Property

Navigating a Relationship when one Partner owns a Property
Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster! My friend (really!) has been dating this guy for a little over a year and they both each gross around $100k. My friend currently owns her own condo and has a significant amount of equity.

They both started to look into homes to purchase together about a month ago. She was willing to put the down payment on this property and split the mortgage payments and other costs after closing. Her boyfriend does not have any savings and is not necessarily financially savvy. They began to argue about finances and she didn’t feel comfortable moving forward with purchasing a property together. Her boyfriend became upset and said that she broke his trust and that he felt that she didn’t trust him. She explained that there is no rush, and that he could move into her condo and look into houses again after some time when he’s been able to save up some of the deposit or if they took their relationship further through marriage.

As a result of this conversation, he would claim that he didn’t trust her and asked her if she would put his name on the title of her condo. She was in complete shock and shut down every conversation about property and told him that if he didn’t trust her over this decision then we don’t have a relationship. That was ultimately the end of their relationship.

Was she wrong to jump to that conclusion? I have no idea why anyone would ask their boyfriend/girlfriend to add their name to the title of a pre-existing property. It just didn’t make any sense and seemed very odd!

    What do you guys think?

Not just for Canadians . . .

I'm in the U.S. and a baby boomer . . . not likely this podcast's target market. I heard about Trevor through Radical Personal Finance. I've listened to just one program and found it intriguing and thought provoking. I subscribed to see how Courtney and Trevor develop this show. I strive to be more minimalist so if/when this show no longer works for me I will unsubscribe but from what little I've heard so far I believe the show has the potential for a solid fan-based audience.

Great Show

Courtney and Trevor give lots of good information, without talking down to the audience. A lot of it is based on Trevor's personal experience and I feel he does a good job explaining his mindset. I really appreciate the descriptions for each episode, which are a good summary of the points that are covered, unlike a lot of other podcasts where the description is just a few throwaway lines.
