    SEASON FINALE! Grease 2 (1982) w/ the Thicket & Thistle Podcast - S5, Ep. 11

Is Grease still "the word?" Ben & Megan are about to find out! For the season 5 finale, they've invited 5 amazing guests from the Thicket & Thistle podcast to help them get Back to School and find their very own Cool Rider as they discuss 1982's red-headed step-cousin of movie musicals, 'Grease 2,' starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Maxwell Caulfield, Christopher McDonald, and Didi Conn! This episode is crazier than a Talent Show Luau Graduation weekend! They'll talk their favorite songs (they're all about sex), best scenes, Motorcycle Heaven, the Grease franchise (it's real!), and the purpose of above-ground bomb shelters. One things for sure: They're gonna Score Tonight! Thank you for your support through this amazing season. Beetlejuice (1988) w/ actress Sarah White and actor/writer Max Henry - S5, Ep. 9

Ben & Megan (and producer Molly) are joined by NYC artists Sarah White and Max Henry as they open the Pandora's Box that is Tim Burton's mind in the 1988 comedy classic, 'Beetlejuice,' starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, and Catherine O'Hara! The SIMAC gang deep dive into the films' affect on pop culture, Broadway, and what specifically makes this movie legendary, including, of course, a career-defining turn from the Batman himself! This episode about the 'Ghost with the Most' is not to be missed! Point Break (1991) w/Mia Allen and Chris Eadicicco from Alight Films - S5, Ep. 8

Point Break (1991) w/Mia Allen and Chris Eadicicco from Alight Films - S5, Ep. 8

Surfs up, brah! This week, Ben & Megan (and producer Molly) welcome special guests Mia Allen & Chris Eadicicco from Alight Films to discuss the classic action heist bonanza that is 1991's 'Point Break' starring Keanu Reeves and the late, great, always moist Patrick Swayze. Thankfully, Chris is an expert when it comes to all things PB, and will help the SIMAC pod understand just what exactly this movie is all about. Why are there bank robbing surfers? (cuz) Is Johnny Utah in love with Bodhi? (yes) Is Bodhi a cult leader? (yes) Why is this not called 'The Cowabunga Crooks?' They'll ride this enlightened wave all the way to it's ultimately confusing and unsatisfying conclusion. Radical! La La Land (2016) w/Stafford Jones from the Tipsy by 12 Podcast - S5, Ep. 7

It's just another day of sun for Ben, Megan, producer Molly, and special guest Stafford Jones from the 'Tipsy by 12' podcast as they collectively get their fix of Vitamin D from 2016's 'La La Land', directed by Damien Chazelle, and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone! Set in modern-day Los Angeles but dressed in 1950's threads, Sebastian and Mia are both artists searching for someone in the crowd, hoping to find a city of stars on a lovely night. Will Mia learn to do the audition confi-dance while Sebastian tries to single-handedly save Jazz as we know it? More importantly, will they break-in to the Griffith Observatory and levitate? Anything is possible for these fools who dream! You can help support the artists that make this podcast a reality by subscribing to us at patreon.com/simacpodcast! Moonlight (2016) - S5, Ep. 6

    Moonlight (2016) - S5, Ep. 6

This week, Ben & Megan (and producer Molly) slow things down a bit as they discuss their thoughts on the groundbreaking film 'Moonlight', starring Mahershala Ali and directed by Barry Jenkins, based on the play by Tarell Alvin McCraney. In their collective first ever viewing of the film, they discuss the themes and arcs that spoke to them most, the craft it took to tell this powerful story, why "Old Kevin" was literally booed by Molly, and most importantly, how they are each changed as individuals after having experienced this masterpiece. Holding a Metacritic score of 99 and winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor (Ali), this episode, and this film, are not to be missed. As someone who also does a podcast with their significant other about movies (it’s called Movie Lovers, check it out) I really enjoyed this podcast!! I listened to The Neverending Story episode — one of my faves — and was truly entertained and totally enjoyed going through the plot with them. You guys are rad, high five!!
