Solicited Advice with Alison Roman
Alison Roman brings you Solicited Advice, a podcast that is just that. The New York Times bestselling cookbook author is joined every week by a guest who, like her, enjoys giving and or receiving advice. Together, they answer questions from live and recorded callers that cover everything from modern dating to awkward neighbor interactions to how to order a martini with confidence and, of course, cooking (no, you should not be “washing your chicken,” and yes, you really should have two types of salt). New episodes every other Thursday– listen wherever you get your podcasts. Solicited Advice is brought to you with distribution and revenue support from the Talkhouse Network.

Alison is great

I like Alison’s takes and enjoy having this on while I run or do chores or commute. I don’t feel like Alison is trying to show off cool friends as one reviewer put it because I often don’t really know who these people are before I listen. I submitted a question once and Alison answered it but it didn’t make the cut. Her producer sent me the response anyway and it made my year (it was about a milestone birthday). That advice literally brought me peace, and not just because of what she said but because *she* said it. I trust her in and out of the kitchen, I guess. I’m here for it!

it’s like uninteresting hot takes, superiority and snark are alison’s brand. feels very studied tho and a desperate attempt to not be labeled basic. she can cook tho, but this pod isn’t for me.
It’s a pass

There is a smugness and too cool for school quality that’s hard to listen to. I love all her other content and will continue to support it, but this podcast has made me wonder if Alison Roman is a mean girl :(
