Kelly Lynch is a former professional dancer and physical theatre artist based out of Montreal (1991-2005). Kelly Jean Lynch (formerly Mullan) is presently a PhD student in Dance Studies at York University. Her Master thesis is from Skidmore College, The Art and Science of Somatics: Theory, History and Scientific Foundations, has been downloaded over 6,000 times. Kelly’s research has also focused on somatic education lineages of women practitioners from the late 19th century with a focus on the aesthetic dance performer Genevieve Stebbins. Kelly has publications in Currents: The Journal of Body–MindCentering Association; the Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices; Feminist Modernist Studies; Body, Movement and Dance in Psychotherapy: An International Journal for Theory, Research and Practice and a chapter on physical culture inMindful Movement: The Evolution of the Somatic Arts and Conscious Action.
