Lyrics are an oft-overlooked component of extreme music. I compare the work of my two favorite lyricists, each having very different styles.

In this episode, I review one of my favorite death metal albums, "Kingdom of Conspiracy" by New York death metal veterans Immolation. In this review, I discuss the album's commentary on George Orwell's "1984" in comparison with Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World."

Lamb of God's 2004 major-label debut "Ashes of the Wake" was one of the first major metal albums to criticize the US-led invasion of Iraq. It explores the folly of the war, its atrocities, and its effect on the soldiers and civilians it destroyed.
