South Bend City Church is a dream that’s just beginning. Our lead pastor, Jason Miller, began sharing this dream with friends in late 2015. In the past few months, we’ve been building a team, looking for a place to call home, and gathering to experiment with different ways of worshiping, serving, and following Jesus together.

9.25 [PRACTICE] Time in Creation Gathering

9.25 [PRACTICE] Time in Creation Gathering

This weekend, instead of a new teaching, we entered into some practices to further reflect on God as Creator. Based off of the challenges we received from Jason in last weeks teaching, we spent some time reflecting on creation and in the practice of creating. If you want to join in with us in these practices, you can use the resources below. And if you want to engage in the Eucharist with us, grab some form of bread and juice.

    9.18 [REFLECTION] Creator God Liturgy

    9.18 [REFLECTION] Creator God Liturgy

This liturgy, which was paired with this week’s teaching on God as Creator, explores the relationship with the world around us and the Divine. We spent some time reflecting through song, through reading, and by centering ourselves back on the Apostle’s Creed as we continue in our series Old Creed, New World. Music recorded live at Studebaker 112 and spoken word recorded separately.

9.18 [TEACHING] Old Creed, New World (wk 3) - Maker of Heaven and Earth

9.18 [TEACHING] Old Creed, New World (wk 3) - Maker of Heaven and Earth

Jason Miller - Since the 19th century, the story of creation has been complicated by another story about the biological processes that led to the diversity of life we see on our planet. Are these competing stories? Or is it possible that God is showing us something beautiful in the story that Darwin tells?

9.11 [REFLECTION] A Liturgy of Creed, Love, and Faithfulness

9.11 [REFLECTION] A Liturgy of Creed, Love, and Faithfulness

This week in our gatherings we introduced a new song that is based on the Apostle's Creed and we entered into a practice called Prayers of the People. We felt it important to pray for the Church at large, individual needs, and remembrance on a day such as September 11th, as well as center ourselves on the faithfulness and love of God through all seasons of life.

This Teaching Has Undone Years of Harm...

Growing up in the church, I encountered countless sermons that wounded me and left me with greater shame and insecurity. When I started listening to these teachings, all of that started to slowly heal.

Love the heart of this ministry!!

I’ve been in church all my life. I live the Body of Christ and I love His Word. There have been only a handful of speakers that I’ve heard along the way that have impacted my thought life the way Jason Miller has. I’m so thankful to call him my pastor and I’m grateful I get to hear him almost every week. I thank God for the gift in the earth in Jason.

Besides that, the rest of the staff and the committed members carry that same heart. A Love for God and His Word and a love for all people of the world.
