The Music. The Madness. As lived by Jon Zazula.

    Dave Baksh

    Dave Baksh

SUM 41 guitarist Dave "Brownsound" Baksh takes us behind-the-scenes of MTV Icon: Metallica, the 2003 event where his band brought down the house with a ripping Metallica medley that stood in stark contrast to some otherwise questionable band/song pairings. Dave talks about the feedback he received from James and Kirk; discovering Metallica; his favorite Metallica riff to warmup with; the infamous Guns N' Roses / Metallica show in Montreal where PapaHet stepped into a huge "tower of flame"; Sum 41's latest album; and much more.

Demon Hunter!

Great Podcast

I am listening today to your review of the S&M2 show you went to. My aunt who passed in 1998 was a harpist in the San Francisco orchestra in the late 70’s I believe and when I was starting a band in the 90’s she wanted to see the sheet music of the music I liked so I showed her the “music book” from Puppets. I will always remember that she told me that everything she saw in this book was equally arranged and flowed like a traditional classical piece.
It was around a year the first S&M came out and I remember watching the video from it and because my aunt played the harp in this same orchestra I wanted to see the harpist. If you look the dude had a colored mowhawk and a sleeveless tux with his tattoos showing if my 43 year old jäger memory serves myself correctly. I mention this because in the podcast you mentioned how you were wondering if any of the musicians listened to MetallicA. I am willing to bet that harpist did.
