Ministry, Manipulation and MLMs! Oh My! - Hollyanne Simon - S2E5
Hollyanne Simon did not grow up in the Church but made it her life beginning at age 13. She accepted Jesus in a moment of "worship" at a Summer Camp, and when coming back home, she dove head first into all things Church. She began volunteering in the Children's Ministry, on the worship team, and in the office. By the age of 16, she was working in the Church as a Children's ministry intern, and worship intern, which later turned into full-time ministry positions. She worked on Church staff for a decade, six of those years being pastoral. Hollyanne comes on the podcast to share her deconstruction and healing journey.

Church Sanctioned Abuse - Tia Levings - S2E1
Tia Levings is a writer, creator, and content specialist. Her work explores the female narrative in patriarchal spaces.
She has a memoir releasing in 2024 through St. Martin's Press.
Her videos on social media have millions of views. Through the lens of her personal experience, she connects entertainment, news headlines, and current events to fundamentalist influences and strategy.
She writes about religious trauma and Christian fundamentalism to educate, validate, and empower those who feel smashed by the patriarchy. She does it to create something beautiful from pain.
And, because when she went through the hell of church-sanctioned violence, she felt alone. She wants you to know you aren’t alone. And even if the church condones and shelters it, abuse is never okay.
