Each month we select a speculative fiction book, read it, and talk about it. Early in the month we'll post a pre-read episode with context about the book, the author, its place in SF fandom, and anything else you might want to know before you read. Towards the end of the month, we'll post an episode discussing the book in-depth: the character, plot, themes, politics, and philosophy of the novel. In between, we might post some shorter episodes about other topics in the SF publishing world. We hope you enjoy!

Found treasure!

I just found your podcast and am binging! I am 67 years old and entering my fourth year of retirement. I have been reading science fiction and fantasy since I was about 7 years old. I started with E. Nesbit and George MacDonald, Arthur Clarke, Issac Asimov and to many more amazing writers. Thank you for introducing me to so many great more contemporary writers in these genres—my fear is that I’ll die or become senile before I get to all the books you suggest and discuss! Love your discussions and analysis, especially comparisons of themes among different authors. Keep up your excellent work!

Likable guys talking about books.

This podcast is two personable, funny, real guys talking about books; it doesn't get much better for me. I also love that the podcast isn't over-produced but still sounds clear. The guys are just real people talking. I love almost everything about it. My only problem is I prefer podcasts to stay under an hour but that's just my own personal bugaboo.
