    Surviving A Genocide

    Surviving A Genocide

Consolee Nishimwe is a survivor of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda and lived through the horrors of that genocide at the age of fourteen. Consolee suffered insurmountable physical and emotional torture for three months, hiding from place to place to evade capture and certain death. In the end, she miraculously survived with her mother and younger sister, but her father and three young brothers were savagely murdered.
Consolee’s miraculous and inspiring story of survival is a grim testament of hope and faith triumphing over tragedy and provides lessons that will help anyone who is grappling with difficulties in their life. She is a committed speaker on the genocide, a defender of global women’s rights, and an advocate for other genocide survivors.
This conversation contains very difficult topics, so be aware. I also want to make you aware of the darkness around us, as it can lead us to understand the light. This powerful conversation will move you and show you that even in the darkest times, hope can be a light to guide us.

Scott Fifer is the founder and CEO of GO Campaign. GO Campaign is an incredible organization that gives opportunities to children worldwide and empowers local heroes. Some of their ambassadors include Ewan McGregor, Robert Pattinson, and Lily Collins. GO Campaign’s work is global and local, not just the “charity hotspots” we see in the media.
This conversation dives into how Scott got inspired to create GO Campaign and the truth about charity. I feel I’ve made a new friend in Scott, as he genuinely understands that making others feel seen is the GREATEST power we can deploy in the world. Please check out GO Campaign and see if they are doing something in your local area. The world is still recovering after the past few years and you may be able to change a life.

    Prayer and Spirituality

A spontaneous conversation about spirituality, letting spirit in, and being Greek! This was a wonderful introduction to Agapi Stassinopoulos.

I've been on a journey, looking for spirit for many years, and to have an in-depth conversation about it with someone on the same path was exhilarating. I hope you leave this conversation as inspired as I was.

    Blue Planet

    Blue Planet

My guest this week is photographer and adventurer Sue Flood. Her passion is for the Polar regions and her photography of it is jaw-dropping. She’s worked with Sir David Attenborough on The Blue Planet and Planet Earth shows, as well as a number of other productions.

What I took away most from Sue was her daily love for what she does. It’s inspiring and I hope you find that thing in life that lights you up inside, like the polar for Sue.

Leon’s approach to life and others is inspiring and so healthy. Openly accepting and listening and learning about how to better communicate with others. Honest conversation whether he knows them or not has helped me understand how our differences can be positive connections for bringing a world of differences together to love and support one another. Going Deeper

I enjoy Leon’s interviews for the intimacy and humanity of the stories featured. As someone who prefers to keep the TV off and the news out, I find these moments of one on one conversations to be informative, thoughtful, inspiring and provocative.
