#69 How to deal with envy and jealousy and why they are important

#69 How to deal with envy and jealousy and why they are important

Yes, sometimes we are envious of someone, because he/she has something that we do not have. We have grown up hearing that it is bad to be envious and jealous. So, whenever we feel envy and jealousy, we push this feeling aside, or even judge ourselves for it.

What makes you envious? Seeing other people who have

A happy relationship? A family? Kids?
A good job? A higher position? A higher salary?
Material things like a bigger house, a car or jewellery?
    A different lifestyle?

What I want you to understand: Being envious of anything of the above (or something else) is nothing bad! Instead, it is a very important indicator, what your real desires in life are!

I am sharing with you also my personal insights what my own envy told me about becoming a mother, focusing on my career and doing public speaking.

What is it that makes you envy? Use it to define the right targets for you! Whatever you are lacking now – remember that you just done have it YET!

If you need guidance to define your targets in the right way, check out the episode that I made about reaching the own goals: #36 – Define, feel and reach your goals

I am happy to support you that you can have a successful and fulfilling career by being able to show your true, authentic self! Therefore, this podcast is based on three pillars:

#68 Triggers at the workplace – How to recognize and manage them

#68 Triggers at the workplace – How to recognize and manage them

What is a trigger? What is triggering you emotionally – something that somebody says or does that makes you angry, aggressive, sad or even panicking? At your workplace, in your family, in your network of friends or even just by walking around in the city?

What can you do when you recognize that you got triggered and you are close to overreact or have done already?

First: be proud of yourself that you are already reflecting your own behaviour in such a way! How many people get triggered and just let out their aggressiveness without questioning it?!

Here are the 5 steps that I explain in detail in this episode how you can handle it when you get triggered:

    Recognize your emotions and thoughts
Ask yourself: Why are you reacting like this? Does this remind you of something?
Zoom out! How would a neutral person assess this situation?
Conclude: Is it a personal trigger or something you really have to set boundaries against it?
Decide on your next action: Do you want to talk to a neutral person about it or even give the person, who has triggered you, a feedback?

I am happy to support you that you can have a successful and fulfilling career by being able to show your true, authentic self! Therefore, this podcast is based on three pillars:

    • Self-confidence & self-esteem

    • Managing your emotions

#67 Job search, networking, recruitment – 3 common mistakes that prevent you from landing a job

#67 Job search, networking, recruitment – 3 common mistakes that prevent you from landing a job

Are you desperately looking for a job? You write applications, you reach out to companies, you network and try to get in contact with recruiters and hiring managers – without success?

I am now a hiring manager myself, and I have observed that many people make at least one out of these three mistakes:

They are downgrading their own competences
They are not able to keep their energy up in the right moment
They are not empathetic enough when handing in their application

From the perspective of a hiring manager, these three mistakes would DISTRACT me from a candidate applying to the position that I have open, no matter how good the CV or cover letter looks like!

I am therefore sharing with you in this episode, what you should do to avoid making these mistakes.

I would be happy to support you that you can have a successful and fulfilling career by being able to show your true, authentic self! Therefore, this podcast is based on three pillars:
