Volume balancing needs work

I enjoy the content in most episodes, some interviewers are a bit more focused than others, but a consistent issue is poorly balanced volume. From episode to episode the content is too quiet, and when the ads come on my eardrums are shattered. This isn’t very hard to manage, most podcasts I listen to have figured this out

Leadership and Counterterrorism: A Conversation with General Stanley McChrystal

Chris Costa is a poor interviewer. I now delete SpyCast episodes--without listening--if Mr. Costa is the interviewer. I listen to SpyCast podcasts because I'm interested in hearing what the guest has to say; not what Mr. Costa has to say. Mr. Costa's performance can be improved by simply reading the guest's bio and reading concise, brief scripted questions--without adding his own life experiences and perspectives.
