The Only Star Trek Podcast in Existence. Yep. It's true!*
Everybody's got an opinion, sure, but who has the "correct" one? Can you even? Trust us for every correct opinion, and a few wrong ones. From Discovery to Picard to Lower Decks, we're resigned to watching these New Star Trek shows both with and without all the baggage that being a "trekkie" entails.
Check out the other Kickers Star Trek podcast, The Rules of Acquisition, about Deep Space Nine, an unsung prequel to modern television.
(*Not actually true, see above)
It's a Mess Over Here (Discovery S3E03)
What's going on? Has it been a whole year? How long is that anyway? Where's Sean? Questions are answered. Lane and Courtney Bowen come back to talk about Star Trek Discovery. Back on Earth things have fallen apart and the Discovery crew has to fix it. Who needs Michael? Oh. Have things devolved back to what they were like before?
Stranded and Grumpy (Discovery S3E02)
The Discovery crew shows up 930 years later and we finally get to meet some characters. Wade is just so happy to finally like what the show is doing. Sean and Glen are less enthused, to varying degrees. -But what would one of these podcasts be with a little disagreement?
It's a brand new season and a new start for Disco.
Do we like Star Trek Discovery now? Are we off brand? Total hypocrites?
We're done being reflexively unsupportive.
Under the Bridge: The Show You Wanted (Lower Decks S1E10)
Has Lower Decks pulls off the show everyone thought it should be? What themes is this show pulling off that Trek hasn't dealt with? What can we expect from the next season? What did we hate? Does a Rick and Morty structure work here? What is going on? Status Repot never ended.
Under the Bridge: For the Fans (Lower Decks S1E09)
Wade has become what he hates. The worst kind of Star Trek fan. Sean is there to put us in his place. Glen is the same kind of fan he’s been.
In Status Report, everybody gets along. Kinda.
Under the Bridge: Bad Improv (Lower Decks S1E08)
Is there even such thing as good improv? Is this more Star Trek or contrived gags? A discussion of what do we want from our guest cameos and crossovers?
Status Report incites more anger than usual when Glen steps out of line.

It’s like these guys don’t even unabashedly love anything with the Star Trek name on it! WHAT THE HELL, GUYS?
A critical perspective on a show that has tried to be everything to everyone and maybe only pleased some?
There are some things that are good about this podcast: the subject matter, the title, Wade’s insights and the things he pulls out to examine, collar talk.
There are some things I really really can’t stand, but I listen because I want to hear some convo about Picard!
-The theme song is so horribly bad. It hurts. Literally it hurts to hear. It’s so awful. Please stop. The repetitive notes. The bad singing. The terrible lyrics. Please stop. Please.
-When you all take so much time complaining about how much time someone is taking to do a “special segment.” I mean, if you’d all shut up and let the guy talk it would be over in half the time. It makes me cringe pretty bad. Stop talking over each other.
-The thing I can’t stand the most about this podcast (and yet I continue to listen for lack of other Picard podcasts) is that you (Wade) have chosen to do this podcast with three people who aren’t really into Star Trek. I do not give a darn about what three random guys think about some new sci-fi tv show. I want to hear FAN’S perspective and insight about a CAPTAIN PICARD STAR TREK show! I mean at least make it 50% trek fan and 50% normal person. ;-) But I feel that in this podcast you’re the only voice that speaks from a position of trek knowledge and history.
Thanks for all the hard work on creating these shows!
