CW: Loss of a grandfather, loss of a pet, being unable to revive a spouse, complications during the birthing and delivery process, alligators, Florida, Floridian Insanity, dad jokes, corny humor.
I recently had the pleasure of sitting down to chat with one of my good friends and fellow voice-over actors and podcasters (The Limey and The Yank), Trenton Bennett. In this lighter episode filled with plenty of corny dad jokes and impressions from both of us, Trenton shared how he started using humor to cope with death at the age of 14 when his grandfather passed away. We also chatted about what it’s like to lose a pet, something I very sensitively and graciously brought up, letting go of often literal weights we carry from the deceased, how we use laughter to survive, why bucket lists can be dangerous, and the challenges surrounding what comes with having a very long life. And if you’ve ever wondered what it sounds like when a couple of friends who are both in voice-over get together, stick around after the episode for a little peek into the world of my day job.
