Stopping Purging Before Stopping Binging in Bulimia Recovery + Life Updates Binge Breakers - Bulimia Recovery

    • Mental Health

Should you stop purging before attempting to address binging? Let me first clarify by saying purging of any kind should never be utilized as a tool. It has severe health consequences and keeps you stuck in the cycle of bulimia for various reasons. However, there are multiple ways to recover.
For me, I addressed the binging first. Committing became more important after I stopped binging as more urges arose to purge on my intuitive eating journey. The reason addressed the binging first was simply because I was not willing or in a place to be ready to give up purging.
In hindsight, I could have and should have given up purging as soon as possible as it did perpetuate the cycle. However, it worked out regardless. In today's episode, we discuss what you want to consider when addressing both challenges, the benefits of addressing purging first, and if you are unwilling to go there yet. Plus I also give you some life updates. :)
