Strange Familiars

I’ve been listening to Strange Familiars for about a year and love it more and more with each episode. It’s the perfect mix of paranormal tales, history, storytelling, legends and folklore plus some of the best Bigfoot content out there. Thanks for making such a thoughtful podcast!

I’m a very long-time listener. The host and the show are unique but the format has changed so that only patrons get the best and most interesting episodes which feature original research. Regular listeners are served interviews with others and they are not all worthwhile. Of course patrons deserve special shows but they seem to not care about other listeners or building their show and I’m tuning in less and less

A few episodes had guests with stories that were somewhat entertaining to listen to but then there were embarrassing episodes of the host sitting in the middle of the woods for over an hour saying “what’s that over there, it looks like a eyes”. Well of course it’s eyes, you’re in a forrest full of animals. Or his hunts for Bigfoot(enough said) they were embarrassing just to listen to. And the boring repetitive final question of each episode about eating pancakes, it’s the rancid cherry on top of an already melted sundae.

Definitely one of the better paranormal shows out there. I love the segment with Brother Richard. I think the hosts are good at letting people tell their stories and I like their ephemera type segments. Not a huge fan of the longer songs at the end but overall I think it's a well-rounded podcast. Many of the other paranormal shows don't really have a lot of original content And I think the hosts of Strange Familiars are doing a great job overall. When I started listening to this show I definitely felt like the idea of Bigfoot was kind of dumb. But then when I listened to that two part episode about the young guy going out into the forest, it was really compelling! And I like Tim's theory on Bigfoot. Definitely give this podcast a listen!
