Understanding Stalking and Violence: From Obsession to Protection

Jane Anderson has spent her entire career staring directly into the patterns of control, obsession, and escalation that define stalking and intimate partner violence. She began as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade's Domestic Violence Unit, where she saw—again and again—how stalking isn't just a red flag, but a warning for violence to come. From there, she built the nation's Human Trafficking Unit from the ground up, prosecuting cases driven by surveillance, coercion, and fear. Over the years, Jane has trained law enforcement, strengthened survivor networks, and led teams tackling domestic violence, stalking, and major felonies. She's also become a national leader in using digital evidence to expose patterns of abuse and hold offenders accountable. I’m not sure about some of these cases. The last one I heard. Her pastor was in her house on her laptop and she didn’t call the police? Even with kids on the house? You weren’t worried about how he got in? No? Just me?

This show used to be pretty okay - however there are some episodes where the guest is DEFINITELY exhibiting signs of a mental illness and the sympathy here just encourages their delusions - (specifically, there was one with a woman convinced her coworker was hacking all of her phones and spying on her, some of the things she insisted and hinged her argument on are not possible - my opinion as a legitimate IT professional) - then on top of that are the blaring random ad placements, and the hosts not asking anything substantial to the guests.

I understand every victim had the right to say their story and respect it. But some of these people don’t seem like they ever take accountability for common sense things. The most recent one about the police officer being stalked or targeted by her own department. Seems like all she made was excuses for her actions. If you’re a police office, why even put yourself at a spot that in uniform you would be seen out in a public place and know you attract unwanted attention. Common sense DONT even put yourself in that situation. Simple fix, remove your uniform and go eat or don’t do it. And yeah, if you’re out on weekends even DD you’re a citizen, you don’t get special privileges to not get pulled over for suspicion of drinking. I’m sure it was a stop after normal daytime hours. Everything seems one sided on her story. “I did 5 years and bounced”. Get over it, not everyone gets special treatment at jobs.
