The national influence of ACU's annual Lectureship began more than 100 years ago. In January 1907, ACU President A.B. Barrett invited preacher Dr. George A. Klingman to lead a week-long lecture series. The popularity of this annual lecture event eventually led to an expanded program in 1918 with a new name - ACU Bible Lectureship Program. When it became a century ago, Lectureship was a program for students, who proclaimed it the highlight of the academic year. The longest running annual gathering of Christians and the Church of Christ continues a successful century of following Jesus. Summit is a conversation where life and faith converge in Christ. ACU provides a space for conversation about real world issues discussed from the perspective of faith. Summit gathers students, church leaders, faculty and Christianity for conversation.
