Food for Thought

Interesting thoughts presented for what the future of teacher preparation could look like. Really like the evolution of the teacher prep program to reflect the personalized learning approach used for students at Summit. Why does this effective method need to be contained to students only? This could be a jolt of what teacher prep programs need as they continue to reflect on not only recruiting new teachers but training them to meet the needs of the 21st century student.

Inspiring insights

This podcast is great for teachers dissatisfied with the status quo in K-12 education. It features a variety of voices - from researchers and school leaders to parents and students - and gives actionable steps to improve one’s teaching. I especially liked the episodes about helping students develop a sense of purpose in life.

Authentic look inside classrooms built on personalized learning

Summit Sparks lets me listen to all the different voices inside a classroom, including students, teachers, even a teacher residency program. I get to hear the chaos of a middle school classroom, and how students tackle a project or answer a question from their Summit Learning teacher. I love how it matches that with talk from education expert about why this type of learning is so effective. It’s a fun podcast that holds my attention during my commute home!
