This pod is long dead when I've found it but full of interesting backlog. I love analysis of media that delves into context and interpretation, not just if something was good/bad or a plot summary. This isnt close reading or analysis of craft (which I also love) but of the overall end results and how a piece of media sits within cultural context. They also dive into the production of each piece of media, a topic I usually don't care about! They bring research and quotes to discuss and prove theyve already digested and really thought about the material they're presenting. They don't pretend they always understand a piece or that they agree or disagree with every piece of criticism. Plus they are very self aware of and acknowledge their lens and privileges when analyzing topics they don't directly relate to. I enjoy this enough to forgive them their feelings on Neil Gaiman. Also Christian sounds very similar to Marc Evan Jackson to me (which he might appreciate).
Great podcast!

Sorry to have missed this when it was coming out! I know quite a few people who are really into this podcast now, and if we’d all found it a little earlier, perhaps it would still be on the air.

I have some kind of curse where so many things that that speak to me in the present have already died. At least I can catch up, but what have I been doing for the last ten years???!!
