A PEEK INTO THE MODERN MICROBRAND, ASTOR AND BANKS, WITH ANDREW PEREZ
This is Superlative: A Podcast about watches, the people behind them, and the worlds that inspire them. This week on the Superlative Podcast, host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined by Andrew Perez, the Founder of Astor and Banks. To start the show Ariel and Andrew talk about the different classifications that are given to watch brands, and why Andrew feels like “microbrand” is fitting for Astor and Banks. Ariel asks about Andrew’s initial inspirations for starting the brand, and what kind of comradery and relationships he is able to find within the industry. The two talk about how traditionally they see the microbrand route offering enthusiasts more value for their money than some of the more established and bigger brands, and why Andrew thinks that is the case. Ariel talks about the importance of straight forward relationships with supplies and how that can sometimes be difficult as an American company reaching out to Swiss suppliers. Andrew also dives into the history of their price point journey, where they currently are, and where he sees the brand potentially going. As the show starts to come to an end, Ariel asks about brand loyalty with their current customers and how Andrew focuses on not just capturing the sale, but also marketing and brand building for Astor and Banks. This week on the Superlative Podcast, host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined by Carson Chan of WatchProfessor. Customer Reviews
Fantastic podcast Ariel is a great interviewer
If you like watches this is a must podcast. Ariel is an extraordinary interviewer. Smart questions and insights.
THE industry expert
Tim Mosso may know all the watch references but no one understands the watch industry like Ariel - and shares it! I appreciate his open mind and sharp new takes which he shares in written and audio form. Superlative is a deep dive for industry members and watch fans alike. If you are either, it’s a must listen. Thanks for all you do Ariel!
Let the speakers talk …
The host is too talkative, too argumentative, and is much less thoughtful and insightful than he thinks. He presupposes and theorizes to constant dead ends.
