Suppliers at Risk: UAW Stand-Up Strike Causes Ripple Effect U.S. Manufacturing Workforce

It's day four of the UAW strike against General Motors, Ford and Stellantis. This unprecedented Stand-Up strike, targeting all three companies at once, is already creating a ripple effect across the automakers causing temporary layoffs at other plants. As the strike drags on, suppliers will begin to feel the impact as well. Beyond the Tier 1, there are thousands of smaller Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers that are exposed and at greater risk.

Jan Griffiths, founder of Gravitas Detroit and host of The Automotive Leaders Podcast, joined us to explain just why these tier 2 suppliers are more vulnerable and she shares her insights on what steps supply chain executives should take during disruptions like this.
