SURRENDER CHARGES
When discussing an MPI® Cash Value Life Insurance plan, I frequently focus on its liquidity or lack of restrictions to access your money. Unlike a 401(k) or IRA, MPI® doesn’t have an early withdraw penalty before age 59 ½, nor other limitations / requirements of those traditional plans. However, there is one caveat and that is the “Surrender Charge” or the penalty to cancel the your MPI® plan within the first 14 years.
An MPI® contract is a life-long contract between you and the life insurance company. These contracts have many benefits and advantages that help protect and accelerate your Compound Interest, producing enhanced retirement income. However, to receive these benefits, it requires commitment.
