Layla Overman and Tara Thueson host the live-workshop style podcast for female entrepreneurs who are trying to do it all. They're pulling back the curtain and showing you how to dig in, do the work, still get dinner on the table, and to accomplish more when you feel like you're barely holding it together.
No Excuses, Get Your Feet Wet
You want change and you’re aware that change needs to happen, but fear gets in your way when you want to take action.
Getting what you want means you need to move forward. We chat about the dialogue to use on a daily basis and giving yourself permission to not be fine and to be too tired. We are not an island and should not do everything ourselves. Ask for help to get to your destination faster. Figuring things out all by yourself takes longer, employ the assistance of others to get things done faster.
Recipe to Create a Good Human Being
There are so many more factors affecting parenting today than in previous generations. I recently read a book “13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don't Do: Raising Self-Assured Children and Training Their Brains for a Life of Happiness, Meaning, and Success” by Amy Morin.
Parenting is more about the parent than the child. These 13 “things” are great guidelines for raising a child. From being able to show your child how to take action for themself to making your child the center of the universe. We chat about how these 13 pieces of advice apply to the daily job of parenting.
“Just Say No”
Saying “no” is very hard, especially for people pleasers who don’t want to disappoint others. Women need to set boundaries and to say “no” to others. Saying “yes” can limit the accessibility to opportunities. Saying “yes” to everything says to others that your time is not valuable.
People find out who the people are who always says “yes” and seek these people out. People can be uncomfortable with you saying “no”. No is a shield against exploitation and can be your protection. If you have said too many yeses, you can become run-down and shallow. Turn around how you feel by using “no”.
25. PMA - Positive Mental Attitude
We can’t adequately impress upon you the impact of positive thinking, or PMA, has on your work, your health, and your life. Seriously! There is a ton of research out there that supports this and reveals that positive thinking is about much more than just being happy or displaying an upbeat attitude. Positive thoughts can actually create real value in your life and help you build skills that last much longer than a smile. So, we're diving in and teaching you how a positive mental attitude can be absolutely life-changing!
24. Competition Schmompetition
Let's be honest, if you go out in public at all, you're probably going to get some criticism for the way you live your life and the choices you make. And for some reason, we tend to take other people's opinions to heart. We obsess, we change, we feel bad, and yes, we even judge back. But the truth is, other people's opinions don't pay your bills, they don't raise your kids, and they aren't there at 11pm at night to keep your house clean after you've had an insane day. So we're laying out our best tips for avoiding the comparison game and living your best life despite the haters.

Yep Wink sleep melts are amazing
I loved this episode! It was fun to hear you mention Wink because that’s exactly why I started listening to you guys. I sell for Wink and I’m so passionate about it and I love hearing your tips on building your empire. Thanks for rocking life and sharing your tips with us. Also, you have to try Winks new comfort patch. It’s the bomb!
Judging by the outcome of their friendship and business dealings it doesn’t seem as if this was actually “authentic living” on either part.
5 stars for self help!
I started listening to Talk to Me Tayla a few months ago, I sort of stumbled upon it really! I started a small online clothing shop last year and have STRUGGLED. I thought I would keep listening to this to learn a few things but as life would have it, once I had my baby girl this summer I got a bad case of Postpartum Depression and Anxiety, honestly this podcast really helped! It shed a lot of light and I hope they continue with the podcast cause it has brightened my life a lot. ALL THE HEARTS! ❤️❤️
