Why I stay
Nov 27
I started to listen to/read Tangle because Isaac is from the same county as me. I was raised in lower Bucks and currently live in upper Bucks. I stayed because during the election season, Tangle was one of two or three podcasts/newsletters that I could tolerate. I really appreciate looking at issues from both sides and Isaac’s open and transparent perspective.
The best

As I write this review, Tangle has officially won a “Shorty” award. Well deserved, because the team at Tangle does great work. It’s news provided without spin, from all sides of the spectrum, and the format is very easy to follow. Language is a neutral as possible, and any opinion provided is stated as such, as not to make an attempt to sway readers/listeners thoughts.

Tangled is a place that people come to when they want to feel informed without doing the work. As much as they claim the opposite, most of their listeners are people who don’t get a conservative perspective and don’t want to listen to any conservatives. They come here so that they can FEEL informed. Of all the people who claim to be non-partisan, tangled might be the best I’ve read. Listening the the conservative perspective through a liberal filter might make it easier to hear, but it isn’t the whole truth.
A Breath of Fresh Air

After spending the past several years stewing in Never Trump and Center Left media, where, in order to feel informed enough on any particular topic such that I could communicate persuasively with those who disagree with me, I would have to read the same topic in multiple different venues in order to piece together some semblance of what actually happened (versus what I’m supposed to think about what happened), I find Tangle to be an efficient source of independently curated, quality analysis of the biggest issues of the day, presented in a voice that neither outrages nor promises falsely. That said, if the producers are reading this, may I suggest making the middle section of the pod, where the Left and Right perspectives are read feel more conversational (slow it down, describe each POV more fully)? I find rapid fire headlines almost impossible to comprehend in an audio-only medium and, while podcasts are much more convenient for me as a medium (I can drive, workout, etc at the same time), I get more out of your newsletter which tells me that you have some work to do in terms of tailoring your storytelling to the podcast medium. Because the core of your offering is SO important and rare (at the moment, sadly), I’m willing to be patient, but please take a hard look at that Left/Right section and, minimally, slow…it…down. Thanks!
