“I like that second one” JAY-Z

Sound settings on my laptop have been royally f****d, making ep 1 & 2 beyond s****y. Consider ep3 a test. Sigh …. again. I figured I could play a cut of “I’m not black I’m OJ” because a) relevant, if you are not careful, Apple music will download (and bill you for the clean version) AND b) though he says the n-person-word over and over, he also references(possibly in an altogether conspiratorial manner) Jews, so whatver. Dig the vid and track fo sho. Same with the Kendrick Lamar cut featured, Irma Thomas….. v/o by Steve H. (who lives on in C++)

    Testing TapCast….. meager return attempt

    Testing TapCast….. meager return attempt

Threw together some great music from around the Web featuring a favorite group of mine, The Concord Blue Devils. Featured are “F Tuning” from 96, the rock out section from the 95 show, including iconic hornline runs and double C’s for days from good ol’ Scott Steward. Also included is my 1st draft of “When a Man Loves a Woman” based on their 1992 closer. You also get my fav version of “Diamonds in the Sky” …. and as always, me talking into an awful onboard laptop mic. Took forever but f-it, we gotta get this site & cast off life support. There’s doins afoot, I assure you. PS if you are a “millenial” musician, F Tuning = Cmaj I IV V I and a double C is actually a concert high G. “Wubba lubba dub dub!”

    v0 – best of DCI 2016 ….

    v0 – best of DCI 2016 ….

yeah, I was there, right up front, vip-style, on the 50, not that anyone bothered to say hi…anyway f**k you and here is a remastered sample of the fluegel (alto) solo in Canton’s world-championship program, along with some hornline bad-assery, including a soprano, err….I mean trumpet solo. Yes, it’s Wink-Man, who trills on a high B, pops uo to a double G (concert high F) then back down to a high D (concert high C), then winks at the camera and the crowd s***s themelves. genius. Credit to the 120 performers who deserved to win and to my old teach’ @SCV – Dean Westman. Much Love, more to come. Visit DCI.org for complete recording. -T

*this audio will be re-worked-added-to-recut-redited all that good stuff im just trying a few new tricks in post and wanna hear how they sound in the field. dubG @ 1:07–wink @ 1:17.

An extremely rushed podcast to commemorate Madison’s visit to SoCal pt. 1 ….

Tapper guides us through some rare, old school cuts of everyone’s favorite (OK, in everyone’s top5…lower if you leave out the corps you are/were involved in) – One of two all-male corps left in the Division 1 class – THE MADISON SCOUTS. Comment and the usual bs underlies the choice music cuts; as rushed products get rushed results, We apologize if the sound quality isnt as clear as I usually strive for. We have to upload these casts ASAP …the last two both took about 12 to 24 hours for iTunes to crawl it correctly. w/o further adieu….blastoff…blast one…and blast back to 1985, 1990, 1991 and 1993. (marked explicit b/c Tapper drops a few f-bombs…mille pardons). Happy 4th!!!! from the crew at self-sim-sususudios baby!!!

Quickie cast pt 4 – Back to the Retardation ….

Quickie cast pt 4 – Back to the Retardation ….

Tapper laments to Steve that the bits they’ve been working on all damn day got lost in the mix. Hawking and Tapper recount the 15 mins of b-roll they just recorded of Bill Feynman, whose sobriety, choice of accents and senility levels are called into question. The BTTF ‘trilogy’ is paid tribute to by debuting the midi of an arrangement by Tapper & Bill; the intro and cool fanfare parts are culled-out, as the middle and end aren’t written yet. The loss of great bits are again lamented as Tapper recounts the difficulties writing, voicing, editing and publishing a podcast immediately following win8.1 system failure. The two agree that the “Hulk Hogan did 9/11” bit should be redone, so they outtro with another 80s anthem, “I AM a (something) American,” by …who knows?
