The tapping script that is written just for you

The tapping script that is written just for you

Tapping is one of those tools that is simple to understand and explain, but that doesn't mean it is easy to do.
The biggest hurdle most new tappers (and even experienced tappers) experience is not knowing what to say when tapping.
When we first learn tapping we are guided by a skilled practitioner or teacher who seems to come up with perfect tapping phrases without effort. We can't wait to add tapping to our daily practice.
Then we then find ourselves tapping on our own and our mind goes blank. As easy as it was for the person who taught us tapping to come up with phrases it is hard for us.
    Our mind is blank.
We are frustrated and disappointed that it "just doesn't work for us" and we give up.
This week in the podcast I share with you my favorite way to write a tapping script that is perfect for you.

15 Years of the Tapping Q&A Podcast w/ Brad Yates

15 Years of the Tapping Q&A Podcast w/ Brad Yates

On March 3rd, 2009 the first episode of the Tapping Q & A Podcast went live...and within 90 minutes that same episode was taken offline because of a major editing error.
Fifteen years (and 600+ episodes) later, the show is still going. In that time, the podcast has featured wisdom and insights about tapping, healing and transformation from some of the brightest minds in change work.
The podcast has been downloaded millions of times and listened to by people in more than 150 countries.
In a very special episode of the podcast, Brad Yates joins Gene to talk to him about all that he has learned from the podcast. It is a great opportunity for you to learn those lessons without having to go through the 15-year archive. (Though you are more than welcome to do that as well!)
Enjoy the reflection and lessons from the past 15 years.

    Tapping Tool – Self-Coaching

    Tapping Tool – Self-Coaching

Tapping is something that is simple to explain, but isn't necessarily easy to execute.
We know that tapping success comes from tuning in to the issue and then tapping on the points.
But tuning in to an issue can be tricky, particularly when we are in a heightened emotional state.
When I am struggling to define what I am experiencing, I reach for a simple tool that I call "self-coaching". It is something you already know how to do, you just haven't realized you can use this approach when tapping on your own.
This week in the podcast I share the process and how easy it is to use.

Tapping Tool – The wisdom of a mentor

Tapping Tool – The wisdom of a mentor

None of the success that I have enjoyed in my life is something that I have accomplished on my own.
My past and present are filled with inspiring teachers and mentors, and I often reach out for help when I am working on a project or task.
I have achieved so much more and my life is immeasurably better because of these mentors.
That said, I don't always have access to my mentors. They are busy, I can't get hold of them, and some of them have passed away.
But just because I can't access them in the moment does not mean that I am without their guidance.
This week in the podcast I share with you one of my favorite ways to access the wisdom of my mentors, even when they aren't with me, and how to incorporate that into your tapping.

How I start every tapping sessions

How I start every tapping sessions

Tapping is such an easy tool, that at a moment's notice we jump right in and start tapping.
Even though this is the case, I think it is important that we don't rush in too quickly. To help me get the most of a tapping session I have created two checklists that I read through before I start tapping. There is one checklist for when I am doing personal tapping and another for when I am working with a client.
These lists are designed to make sure I am fully present to the work I am doing AND to make sure I am getting the most out of each tapping session.
You can find the checklist here.
You can hear a full explanation of what each point means and why I focus on them in this week's podcast.

How to stay on track while tapping

How to stay on track while tapping

One of my favorite parts of tapping is the fact that when we sit down to tap, not only do we get a chance to clear and release issues but we also have the opportunity to discover other issues that are deeper under the surface.
The cliche that is most often used (because it contains truth) is doing this work is like peeling an onion. As we remove one issue we find another one underneath.
This is powerful because it gives us access to deep work that we can do, but it can also be a distraction. What we thought was one issue now feels like five issues.
When this happens two outcomes can occur. We can become so overwhelmed by the amount of work that we need to do that we stop tapping or we can end up jumping from issues to issues losing our focus. If we end up jumping from issue to issue we end up in the situation where we do a lot of work (tapping on lots of issues) without making much progress because we aren't focused enough to get work done.
This week in the podcast I share with you the way I tap to make sure I stay focused on one issue without being overwhelmed or jumping all over the place.
The process is so simple that after you hear the instruction once you will be able to implement it right away.

Kindness and Authenticity

This is exactly what I needed to hear! I am dealing with this issue now, and I was feeling guilty for expressing my needs, and saying how this person’s behavior affects me negatively. She would change plans without letting me know, and treat the whole thing very casually, like it was no big deal. She refused to be accountable, or an equal contributor in the relationship, and I was supposed to be okay with that. I very kindly asked for what I wanted/needed in a close friend. Her response was, “You’re always putting me down!” I realized it’s not safe for me to let her get close to me, and, thanks to this podcast, I now have the validation for trusting my instincts about her. It’s as if the words in this tapping script were chosen specifically for me, and couldn’t have been more perfectly timed! I will go back to it often, as I learn to choose my friends wisely, and not just accept however anyone wants to act, just because I’ve always been taught to put everyone else first. THANK YOU!! ❤️Katy
