    Adam Lance Garcia Interview

For decades, Star Wars fans experienced deeper connection to the galaxy far, far away through books and comics in the Expanded Universe.

All that changed in 2012 when Disney purchased Lucasfilm, and shifted those stories to what is now the "Legends" universe.

Adam Lance Garcia of Conde Nast joins us as he share what it was like to go through that transition, and why Star Wars needed that "wilderness period" to learn what works - and what doesn't. - in a Star Wars story.

Understanding Prophecy Like Qui Gon Jinn

Understanding Prophecy Like Qui Gon Jinn

When Qui Gon Jinn first appeared in The Phantom Menace, he introduced Star Wars fans to the concept of The Prophecy of the Chosen One. It’s hard to hear about a virgin birth and a foretold child without thinking of prophecies of another kind. And now that we’ve learned more about both the Jedi prophecies and Qui Gon Jinn, we can also see how to properly live in light of such prophecies.

    But FIRST...

Samuel the Hutt might have to temper his expectations on the reappearance of Boba Fett in The Mandalorian. There’s another Ahoska Tano rumor out there, which begs another question altogether. And George Lucas has said that Star Wars is like poetry - it rhymes. And a recently revealed deleted storyline from The Rise of Skywalker has life imitating art. That’s all next on Hot Takes.

Is it Boba Fett? Is it Cobb Vanth? Why Not BOTH?

Why Is It So Hard To Watch the Legacy Characters Change in the Sequel Trilogy (with Michael Condon of the TooMedToo Star Wars Network)

Learning To Stand On Your Own Like Rey Skywalker

Learning To Stand On Your Own Like Rey Skywalker

Very little has divided Star Wars fandom over the past 5 years more than the question of who Rey’s parents were... 😱

"The Force Awakens" gave us no answers at all... 😤

"The Last Jedi" told us she was nobody... 😳

And "The Rise of Skywalker" had us go from nobody, to Palpatine’s granddaughter, to her assuming the mantle of Skywalker. (No wonder people called watching that film "a rollercoaster!!" 🤪)

But in the end, the story of Rey Skywalker is one of learning that your lineage matters much less than who you CHOOSE to become. (Even if you choose to take the name of someone else! 😬)

We talk about that on this week's show, PLUS:

Who's idea was it to cover Carl Weather's handsome face with prosthetics, and make Greef Karga an ALIEN in "The Mandalorian?" 👽
    (https://www.farfarawaynews.com/…/greef-karga-was-originall…/

The cast of Season 2 of "The Mandalorian" is going to need a 50 passenger bus to get to the set! 🚍Which begs the question: Are there TOO MANY new characters coming to Season 2? 🤯

    https://www.farfarawaynews.com/…/timothy-olyphant-cast-in-…/

What would it be like for the guy with the coolest lightsaber in Star Wars (we're talking about the Grand Inquisitor, of course) to come into LIVE ACTION? 😁

How To Trust The Force Like Luke Skywalker

How To Trust The Force Like Luke Skywalker

Last week, Mark Hamill confirmed that "The Rise of Skywalker" is the last time he will play the character of Luke Skywalker. For most of us, Luke is Star Wars. He’s the perspective through we which first glimpsed a galaxy far, far away. As Luke learns about the Force - we learned about the Force. And over the past 43 years, we’ve grown to understand more about more about trusting the Force along with Luke.

    But FIRST, Hot Takes!

    - Samuel the Hutt might have been right about Boba Fett!
    - Two "Star Wars: Rebels" Favorites May Be Coming to The Mandalorian!
    - Is Dave Filoni being coy about a "Rebels" Follow Up Series?

3 Times Padme Shocked the Galaxy!

3 Times Padme Shocked the Galaxy!

She was the youngest queen in the history of Naboo. She later became one of the most influential members of the Galactic Senate. And while doing all that, she still managed a secret marriage to the Chosen One. You can’t do all that without turning some heads. Padme Amidala is a lesson in conviction.

    But 1st - HOT TAKES!

Our favorite Star Wars director is talking about another Star Wars director. There’s been a Baby Yoda sighting. And Cal Kestis is getting a Dark Side upgrade.

Ode to the sons of Tatooine

There is a podcast that we listen to
It is for the old, and it is for the new
It is all about Star Wars from the point of view
of a Father and his sons two.

Excellence
Ebullience
Effervescence

These are the qualities it possesses.
They are why
I listen to
the Bow Tie Jedi Guy,
the Hutt Samuel,
and the droid BB-Nate.
It is because they are great.
Furthermore, they are family friendly
with no Bantha poodoo
That makes the younglings cry ‘boohoo’
So what is this podcast we’re raving about?
It’s Tatooine Sons- No doubt!

Feel the Light

I discovered Tatooine Sons recently, and have been eagerly listening to their catalogue of episodes ever since, starting with their excellent The Rise of Skywalker review and an oustanding conversation about death in Star Wars and whether it's truly the end (hint: no, it isn't!). As one would expect from a podcast hosted by a father and his two sons, the dynamic is familiar and friendly with an easy rapport. Furthermore, all three are extremely insightful about this wonderful Saga, and how it relates to our world as well! In a time when genuinely positive Star Wars content means a great deal to me, Tatooine Sons has more than lived up to their namesake as a source and symbol of hope. Shine on!
