She was named Linkedin’s 2019 Top 10 Voices in Education and received the Black Girls Rock award–alongside Michelle Obama in 2015. In 2016 Dr. Lopez visited the White House, where President Obama recognized her as Varkey Foundation’s Top 50 Global Teacher Prize Finalist. Her Ted Talk on the Education Revolution has garnered more than a million views. In 2020, Dr. Lopez ended her tenure as Mott Hall Bridges Academy’s principal to focus on her work as a mental health advocate and wellness enthusiast. After developing a stress-related illness that threatened her life, she dug deeper into her passion for educating, providing workforce training and coaching through her company, The Lopez Effect. Dr. Nadia Lopez continues to support leaders on their journeys to build their capacity, improve culture through DEI practices, and develop systems to create healthy spaces for professional sustainability; on her crusade to impact 10,000,000 educators globally. Strategies To Build A Truly Inclusive School With Patrick McGrath

According to UNICEF Inclusive education is the most effective way to give all children a fair chance to go to school, learn and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Inclusive education means all children in the same classrooms, in the same schools. It means real learning opportunities for groups who have traditionally been excluded – not only children with disabilities, but speakers of minority languages too.

Inclusive schools value the unique contributions students of all backgrounds bring to the classroom and allow diverse groups to grow side by side, to the benefit of all. In this podcast Partick gives us some really great strategies to make your schools truly inclusive.

Bio: Patrick McGrath is an educator, international speaker, blogger, podcaster, Honorary Fellow at UU and Head of Education Strategy at Texthelp, Patrick is passionate about ensuring that technology has a positive, meaningful and sustainable impact on teaching & learning through a focus on inclusion, accessibility and universal design.
