    Ep. 003 - Jonathan Sylvester

Celebrating over six years of sobriety, Jonathan Sylvester is now the Founder and head coach of Recover U, an online coaching community for men in recovery. In the creation of "The Sobriety Blueprint," Jonathan uses his own experience, along with the lessons he's learned and the support he's received from sponsors, coaches, friends, and family to create a system for men to not only stay sober, but to level up in their life physically, mentally, and emotionally: "Staying sober is the bare minimum here."

Tune in now to listen to Jonathan share his vision for his men, as well as the impact he believes anyone can have on another person - a teacher, a coach, a mentor, a sponsor; we can all be teachers to one another if we believe in someone and really care about their progress.

"Some of my best teachers were teachers that - we didn't jive at first...[Mrs. Jensen], we didn't really jive at first...and I think it's because I saw that she was going to challenge me and push me and she did. That's kind of a common theme, when I think back all of my best teachers, you know you'd think as a student going into a class, like, 'man I want the easy class.' Those classes ending up... they sucked!...The best teachers I had were the ones that challenged me, for sure."

    Ep. 002 - Stephanie Medeiros

A loyal ClassFit client since April 2018, Stephanie Medeiros has risen to become a strong leader in our community and in her classroom. At the beginning of her 2018-2019 school year, Stephanie messaged me to say, "I forgot to tell you about the positive impact it has had on me in the classroom. I am more energetic and enthusiastic with my teaching now because I feel better which in turn gives me more energy in the classroom so thank you for that."

In one of the most inspirational quotes I pulled from this episode, Stephanie shares what I believe to be the key to what makes a teacher really shine in a child's life: "Like, you know, just cause a kid is acting out, it doesn’t mean that they’re just a misbehaved kid, there’s something else going on deep inside…I’m there to support them in any way that I can, cause sometimes that’s really what they need more than anything: somebody to be there for them because they don’t have that support…They’re not going to be interested in learning anything from you if you can’t relate to them and let them know that you care about them."

Stephanie just began her tenth year teaching in Charlotte, North Carolina.

    Ep. 001 - Arielle Ezechukwu

In this episode, I bring on a fellow coach who works with new mothers. Arielle attributes her mindset and her success to her teachers and is passionate about spreading the message to teachers and moms that you MUST TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES, TOO!

"Well my mom worked a lot...she was a single mom and my dad has pretty much been in and out of prison my whole life. So, for me, teachers - I spent the most of my time with teachers and if I didn't have those teachers...who fed into my development, etc., I'm going to be 100% honest, I have NO IDEA where I would have ended up if teachers did not put some effort into listening to me, and taking heed to my special interests, etc., or RESPECTING me so that I could return that respect to them; if I didn't have those teachers, I'ma tell you right now: I would not have a degree from Purdue University, a master's degree from Purdue University, I would not be sitting here being this coach and this leader for other mothers...looking back, it's not a lot of people from where I come from who can say that they've accomplished some of the things that I have, and I look at my accomplishments as small at this point. So, let's put it that way."
