This is episode 150, the Team Shenanigans Podcast's Final Show. We recorded it in front of a live internet audience - a link to the YouTube video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDGKlYFI6V0. Caution: it was not censored or edited in any way, so it may not be appropriate for all audiences. This podcast has been edited and is safe for all audiences.

We were joined during our recording by author and runner Matt Fitzgerald, runDisney race announcer John Pelkey, and two Team Shenanigans Running Team members, Brian Marx and Sandy Beagan.

Many thanks to all of our listeners over the last three years. The podcast is coming to an end, due to the incredible time commitment it takes to schedule, record and produce these episodes. HOWEVER, the running team isn't going anywhere - in fact we continue to grow with more than 300 members from all around the world. You can find out how to join the team here: http://teamshenanigans.org/join-team-shenanigans/.

On behalf of Caryn, Brittany, Kenny and Ryan, I also want to thank Mark Avis who was one of the original hosts and co-founders of the podcast. His work and effort was instrumental in creating the podcast and growing the audience over the last three years.

    148 Running News

In this episode we run down some running news stories we found interesting, read a listener email about the podcast, share Jeff Reed's Top Ten Reasons we're ending the Team Shenanigans Podcast (we refer to him consistently as Kent Reed, which to be fair, is a much cooler sounding name and he should just change it) and we get into an in-depth discussion of pee and the Go Girl.

Just a couple more weeks until our Live Finale. We hope you'll join us Sunday, August 19th at 7pm. Visit http://teamshenanigans.org/finalshow for details.

    147 Elite Runner Heather Pech

In this episode, Caryn introduces us to her friend and running coach, elite runner Heather Pech. After a very successful business career, including stints as CEO of Polo Jeans and Nine West, Heather has found great success as a masters runner, winning her age group in the 2017 and 2018 Boston Marathons, including setting a personal record despite the horrible conditions at Boston in April.

Heather discusses her aggressive training regimen, her work coaching elite youth runners and how some of the same skills that made her successful in business have translated to success in running. You can follow Heather on Instagram @_KnightTraining or @HeatherPech.

Tasteless in many ways

I really wanted to love this podcast, but there were just so many comments that made me uncomfortable. Racially-charged remarks, jokes at the expense of sexual assault victims and Caryn’s special education students (including use of the R-word), sexist and transphobic comments. I wish that the team could just have fun without making fun of marginalized groups. I’m glad that they ended up stopping the podcast, I have already started to seek out less offensive running related content.

Best Running Podcast ever!

I love this group. They’re funny, supportive and give good advice. They live their motto of “ Put FUN in your RUN”

Run away from this podcast

I never listened to this before until I heard Dave Koch was a guest. After listening to episode 109, my life was forever changed. I’ve now decided to never listen to podcasts again, and to ensure this I will break my phone and cut my ears off. Extreme? Maybe, but when Dave Koch is involved, extreme is the only word you can use. As I typed that I realize that makes absolutely no sense. Then again, I just cut my ears off, so....ouch.
