NFT has been getting some accusations about it being bad for the environment. Even though giant corporations and mining industry have been doing worse for years and have done very little to develop environmentally friendly protocol. Telisa: "But to give you context, ETH is getting this accusation because of its proof-of-work technology. It’s a misinformation being spread by FUDsters (agencies spreading fears, uncertainties and doubts). While ETH developers are currently in the process of developing proof-of-stake technology which will use less carbon footprint, there are already staking POW blockchain that are doing that, like Polygon (previously known as Matic)."
