DAVID DAVENPORT
David Davenport left us on March 22, 2024. He was 76.
After serving admirably in the U.S. Air Force, he became a Tennessee State Trooper. After seven years as a Trooper, David was appointed to the TBI where he became a legend in law enforcement circles. He was known nationally for his skills as a homicide investigator. It was said that he and his partner Bob Denny put more murderers on death row than any pair in Tennessee. In 1997 he was honored as Special Agent of the Year.
He served three terms as Sheriff of Jefferson County. David ended a great career as Chief of the Cold Case Division of the Knox County Sheriff's Department. The last work we did together was when I went with him to interview a prison inmate in West Tennessee on one of the Cold Cases from Knox Co.
This interview was first played in April of 2020 and was the most popular show we ever did on my radio show/podcast series, The Investigator.
David Davenport was one of my best life long friends. He will be greatly missed. -

Mr. Leach is a Good Man
Men like this won’t be around forever and I don’t think we can replace them anymore. Their experience and wisdom are worth more than all the diamonds and gold. There’s millions of lost and confused young men trying to find something or someone authentic. Someone that will show them the way forward. The Colossians episode really hit hard. I’m guilty of having all these “earthly” desires. That’s what they teach us is most important when it ain’t. This is why our society is so screwed up. I’m a sinner but thankfully our Lord and Savior has paid for my sins. He paid for yours too. Jesus wants a relationship with you and to show you what really matters. Peace hope and love. Thank you Mr. Leach.
Real journalism
Steve Bowers is a real jewel for Jackson TN. His interviews with local representatives, contacts from the Pentagon and White House, journalists from Epoch times, and news from across the pond are all fascinating. Hearing real questions and answers is so refreshing without any obvious bias. Can’t wait for the next episode. Jimmy Leach also does a great job and gives a very real perspective to what our local law enforcement is like.
