Countless people have a hard time with their emotions. On average, we can only identify three emotions while in their grips; happy, sad, and angry. This is detrimental to our relationships, ourselves, and even our mental wellbeing.
In this podcast, our goal is to shrink the gap between what we experience and how we talk about emotions. Together we will build a new understanding of our deep emotional world. Learn to recognize, use, understand, and ultimately grow our emotional repertoire. To go from being able to recognize three emotions to so many more!
Join Matthew and together learn the value and benefits of getting to know all That Emotional Crap.

Just Be Happy
Please stop telling people that it is just as simple as “all you have to do is choose to be happy!” This is dangerous and damaging to people. They feel broken or wrong when they can’t choose to be “happy”. What does it mean to be happy?

Apology Paralysis
Make an apology that is meaningful. If in your words you still blame “others” it is not going to be heard. Find a way to take ownership of your part without negating the experience of others. There is a great deal of power in a simple “I'm sorry.” Don't get hung up on being right, or showy. Once you realize your mistake take ownership, say sorry, and move on.

What is Compersion?
**Content Warning** This episode contains references to Polyamory, , & Masturbation.
In this episode, I am joined by a guest to talk about compersion. What is this new emotion that is currently being studied? We talk about ways to incorporate it into your own life. This idea that there could be more, yet unfamiliar emotions are one that I find fascinating.

The Value of Vulnerability
As men, we are taught that to be venerable is to be weak. It is not manly to cry or share your emotional life. When we allow ourselves to open up we can finally be open to living in freedom.
Never mind, I had a plan for this episode and it just didn't work. So instead you're getting me, vulnerable and open. What better way to have an episode on vulnerability than to just be. I share some stories that occurred this week that knocked me back a few steps.

Big Thanks for this
I have an anger issue, I have for years, and I am now facing it. This podcast has been very helpful. I have been listening to them and other youtube videos, to better understand myself, and keep my anger from hurting myself and others. Look forward to digesting more of the material, and move on to emotional intelligence and your website. You have made an incredible difference in my life, even as I have much more to do and to learn with this. Thanks Matthew
Short, sweet and to the point
Hey Matt, I just found your Podcast tonight at work because I’m having anger management and bad depression problems myself. I really felt like we connected without actually speaking to each other.
I hope you’re doing alright man. I know the world can really bring you down. Keep your head up and your thoughts clear. Love you man.
