Adric Watched Some of Series 11 (5)

Adric Watched Some of Series 11 (5)

The Woman That Fell To Earth... The Ghost Monument... Nearly half of Rosa... 3/4's of It Takes You Away... Interweb spoilers for The Battle of......

Some of the word combinations in the small passage above this one make up the names of a few stories from Series 11. These word combinations have something else in common- these word combinations make up the names of the stories That's Great, Adric were able to stomach enough to either completely sit through, or were able to make an attempt to completely sit through.

And that great, Adric... really, really great...

(It Takes You Away may not be the correct name for the story we think it is probably the name of)

(We have not the patience or drive to look up the complete name of the series finale and there is no possible way that we, nor anyone else that watched the story, could possibly remember the ridiculous name of the series finale)

Chris Chibnall has turned in his assignment to the BBC, which, in turn, has transmitted the final work to the world.

The assignment given to Chris Chibnall was as such-
"Wrie and produce one full series of Doctor Who (though not quite as full a series as those that the showrunners responsible for Doctor Who during the 54 years that Chibnall was not the showrunner were required to produce), featuring a female Doctor for the first time, using her gender as the focus of all marketing, and a plethora of characters in addition to the brand new, female Doctor, that take up most of the room on the T.A.R.D.I.S console set and enough of the written dialogue to make it impossible for any character, including the characters just referenced and the female Doctor, to have any depth."

To say that Chris Chibnall really "Broadchurched" his assignment would be too mild a measurement of his success. That's Great, Adric believes that critics and fans of Doctor Who a few decades from now will say that Chris Chibnall really "Crappy Torchwooded" Series 11 and no other Doctor Who showrunner before or after could have "Crappy Torchwooded" Series 11 the way Chris Chibnall has.

This episode of That's Great, Adric is a study of the most recent series of Doctor Who, which is called Series 11 as it is the 11th full series of Doctor Who since the program returned.

In addition, we will be taking an in-depth look at how difficult it has been for That's Great, Adric to make it through a full story. One might say that it has been really, really, REALLY difficult.

    That's Great, Adric...

A Doctor Who Podcast... and it's really really great.

Adric would like to quietly acknowledge, and SeannieWan would like to give a great, big shout-out to Andrew Allen for his unbelievably creative Doctor Who Funk Theme.

    Episode Notes
Journey through Space and Time to an alternate universe in which PBS, or the Public Broadcasting System to all you non-Americans, charges every household that wants to watch Masterpiece Theater the same price that one would pay Hulu if one wished to watch network television garbo without commercials. In this alternate universe, the monthly fee for Masterpiece Theater and Sesame Street is not enough revenue for PBS so they create a behemoth production studio to create Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City for every city all over the world. Sound unlikely? Silly?

Now- close your eyes and return to the universe you call home. Remember your experience with the out-of-control, power-hungry, monthly-fee-crazy PBS in that alternate universe. When you wake in your own familiar bed, replace PBS with the BBC and Armistead Maupin with Chris Chibnall and you will be able to understand why Adric is worried about Series 11 of Doctor Who.

SPOILERS/ POSSIBLE SPOILERS for any previously transmitted Doctor Who story...

SeannieWan and Adric take a good, hard look at the perfect storm of misunderstanding and confusion that seems to be rampant among the new production team and new BBC marketing team of Doctor Who re:Doctor Who.

Something is amiss in merry, old England and the change-for-the-sake-of-change changes on Doctor Who are not things that anybody asked for... except a female Doctor... which is great, Adric... really, really great!

Welcome fellow travellers through Time and Space!

We are most grateful that you have chosen to listen to us.

This episode of That's Great, Adric is TGA initial analysis of the 2017 Doctor Who Christmas Episode, Twice Upon a Time.

In our Initial Thoughts episode, we take a look at Twice Upon a Time more as a Doctor Who Christmas Story and less as a a Regeneration Story/Final Production of Long-Time Script Editor/Multi-Doctor Story. Adric will be the first to admit that it isn't east.
Twice Upon a Time- Initial Thoughts is the 2nd installment of our celebration of Peter Capaldi and The 12th Doctor- P.Capz Is Our Doctor (working title).

    Episode Notes
Welcome fellow travellers through Time and Space!

We are most grateful that you have chosen to take a short interdimensional trip with us!

This episode of That's Great, Adric is a study of Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor. Although the word "study" was likey the over-looked noun in that statement of intent, this episode of TGA is intended to be a celebration of The 12th Doctor.
SeannieWan begins a highly-complex verbal assault against the Annals of Time and VICTORY is the only option. Peter Capaldi belongs at the very top of the actors that have played The Doctor food chain. Peter Capaldi is the Tyrannosaurus Rex of Doctor Who.

In addition, we will be taking an in-depth look at... the major series-long themes and thematic elements of Series 8, 9, and 10 and how these plotlines and ideas change The 12th Doctor.

    Adric Meets Mark Gatiss (1)

    Adric Meets Mark Gatiss (1)

    Episode Notes
Welcome Traveler! We hope you enjoy your journey through Time and Space! If you don't, you have nobody to blame except Adric.

This is our 2nd Episode and we thank you for checking it out! Our laser-sharp focus is zeroed in on an examination of a story-writer for Modern Doctor Who.

Mark Gatiss gets a thorough analysis of his career leading up to his first gig with Russell T. Davies- and what a opportunistic gig it is! Mr. Gatiss gets the honor of writing the 3rd story for the Modern Era and it seems to Adric that he gets the job done without putting any thought on the amount of pressure that was on his shoulders.

Adric wanted to study and broadcast a detailed review of Mr. Gatiss' 7th Series story - Cold War, but we took the T.A.R.D.I.S. back to 1991 America and found a Gameboy to distract him.

It is Series 1's The Unquiet Dead that is up for debate on T.G.A.'s second episode. The Unquiet Dead is a forgotten gem in quite a few ways, yet from a certain point of view, it can be argued that it lands with a dud.

Mr. Gatiss has been Modern Doctor Who's** most prolific writer, of course after the two writers that have served as showrunner and scrip-editor since the series came back in 2005.

    The News-

A new Series 10 trailer!!! A Time For Heroes

Three new Doctor Who novels! Each one featuring The 12th Doctor and Bill!

R.I.P. to Neil Fingleton and... extra R.I.P. to Sir John Hurt, The War Doctor.**

Series 10 Premier episode will be a Fanthom Event

Lots of Doctor Who monthly comic titles- Lots of monthly comic sales? Torchwood* monthly comic will decide the fate of Torchwood on television?? That's what John Barrowman* says.

    Special super-duper thanks to:
Andrew Allen for his funky Doctor Who theme

JD Rock for his rip-roaring Doctor Who theme

Crorousseau for his acapella I Am The Doctor theme

Search for all of these guys on YouTube and enjoy their work!

    Next on That's Great, Adric**...

SeannieWan and Adric travel to Mars to study and observe The Ice Warriors. With a little bit of luck, they may see the 'New Kind' of Ice Warrior that Mr. Gatiss has been hyping! That's Great, Adric shares their observations with you, fellow traveler!

Great Show... but...

Look, obviously, if you don’t love this internet streaming audio program, you are the type of Who fan that doesn’t like PCaps bc you don’t like older people. Don’t be an ageist. Capaldi is amazing and so is this program.
Personally, my one complaint- Adric is kind of a d***.
