Episode 334: The Music of Lester Young Part 1

Episode 334: The Music of Lester Young Part 1

This month we start a brand new series on one of the best musicians who ever graced the tenor saxophone and jazz, Lester Young. Lester's music will give us great insight into how to do a lot with a little. While his harmonic language wasn't as adventurous as someone like Charlie Parker, the way he speaks that language is second to none. Enjoy the episode!

Just What I Need

The format is perfect for me. I learn best by focusing on a small "chunk" until I master it. I am overwhelmed at time with other with other format--too much information in too short of time.

Best I’ve Found!

As a comeback musician with a preference for Jazz, this podcast has been THE one I use to improve. Nick’s short, but very educational, format helps keep the listener focused with actionable steps. It’s so nice to be able to review and select the episode topics in whatever order works best for you.

The Patreon subscription to receive the PDF examples, exercises and audio examples is a bargain!

Awesome

I just discovered this pod! I’m a bass player and jazz lover and this is a terrific resource. I really enjoyed the content of the caravan lesson!
