Episode 326: The Music of Charlie Parker Part 4

This week we continue our studies of one of the greatest jazz minds in history. We are going to look at how Bird places his chord tones and drive the home the fact we need clarity in our solos. Jazz is not a formula, but formulaic thinking can get us far when practicing.

Episode 325: Tune of the Month: Confirmation

It seems only fitting that after studying the genius of Charlie Parker for 3 weeks, we finish up the month with one of his most prolific compositions. If you have checked out the last three episodes, make sure you do that before diving into this one. We will be using all three concepts we talked about to put together a statement reminiscent of Bird. Enjoy the episode!

Just What I Need

The format is perfect for me. I learn best by focusing on a small "chunk" until I master it. I am overwhelmed at time with other with other format--too much information in too short of time.

Best I’ve Found!

As a comeback musician with a preference for Jazz, this podcast has been THE one I use to improve. Nick’s short, but very educational, format helps keep the listener focused with actionable steps. It’s so nice to be able to review and select the episode topics in whatever order works best for you.

The Patreon subscription to receive the PDF examples, exercises and audio examples is a bargain!
