What do you think?
Are you Always Becoming?
How would you finish this statement: “I AM . . . “

Are you a product of ‘nurture’ or ‘nature’?
Or, do you believe you are a “spiritual being having a human experience”?
Do you believe in a innate, natural drive to always be growing, toward self-actualization?

Do you have both a “real Self” and a “false Self”, or even multiple Selves?

Or, one Self, mostly, if not solely, a product of genes, heredity, and DNA?

Since a young child, I have had an interest in Psychology – which translates to Study of the Soul, but tends to refer to “personality”. My quest for knowledge in understanding the “I” in “I AM” is as strong as ever. And, I’m not the only one!

For centuries philosophers, theologians, mythologist, spiritual teachers, along with psychologists, have been on a quest for knowledge of Self, in search of the answers to: “Who Am I?” and “Are we Always Becoming?”

Join me and my guests as we explore these two questions. And be inspired by the personal Becoming stories told by guests who share the risks and the challenges, the successes and the letdowns, the joys and the heartaches they experienced while on their own Becoming journey.

    EP 026 : John Morgan’s Quest : “Keep pushing forward . N ever give up. ”

In this quest episode, I talked with Retired Army veteran John Morgan, who made the incredible journey from being a Soldier for 23 years, then a college student finishing his graduate degree in Social Work to, currently, preparing for his Social Worker licensure. He shares with us many chapters of his Becoming Story. John has a passion for helping his fellow brothers and sisters-in-arms find hope as they struggle with the transition from being a Warrior to living in the world of civilians. As we listen to John, we can hear how there are always obstacles on our Becoming Path, the kind of barriers that get us stuck and stagnant. And there are no “good enough” reasons for giving up.

John works as a Veteran Employment Consultant in the Boley Center’s Veteran Reintegration program.

EP 025: Simona Dharma Devi’s Quest: My Soul is a Dancer

EP 025: Simona Dharma Devi’s Quest: My Soul is a Dancer

Anthropologist of dance and theater, and Classical Sacred dance instructor, Simona Dharma Devi, shares about her life experiences as a dance performer, actress, and Kundalini yoga instructor. She tells us that through these approaches she eventually created Kundalini Rhythms Dance—a mystical, sacred form of dance that is meant to be healing and transformative. Dharma believes dance is the ultimate healing form, and that dance gives us the ability to change self-limiting beliefs, and the negative stories we tell ourselves. Dharma shares some chapters of her own Becoming Story, which include a traumatic betrayal, and period of depression. She tells how she was able to move out of the darkness and reclaim her power by using dance to reconnect to her physical body, and to her creative, spiritual Self.

EP 024: The Next Chapter of my Becoming Story

EP 024: The Next Chapter of my Becoming Story

Welcome to 2021. This is the first episode of the New Year. I had to cancel the interviews I had lined up for January because, literally, my becoming story was changing as the first sun of the New Year was rising. My husband became seriously ill, and is still in a life threatening condition. One of the most common themes of this podcast, and what all the guests share, is that adversity, hardship, or trauma marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next. And that is exactly what is happening to me. One chapter ending. A new one beginning.
