Why did the Catholic Church fight Galileo about the sun being at the center of the solar system, especially since the Bible does not state that the earth is at the center?  Though Catholic leaders (mis) used Bible verses in their arguments, the issue was more about earthly control and influence than it was about the Bible or Christianity.

In looking at the world around us, we see what we define as different races or ethnicities.  But the Bible teaches that all humans are descended from the first two people, Adam and Eve.  So, why aren't we all of the same race or ethnicity as each other (and the same as those first two humans)?  The Bible answers these questions in Genesis chapters 10 and 11.  In this podcast, Andy takes us through those chapters and explains why we see such different external characteristics today, including the various languages spoken, even though we all share the same ancestors.

The Bible says the devil has been in the presence of God (Job chapter one, for example) and has spoken to God.  So, in a very real sense, Satan must believe in God, if we define belief as just a mental understanding of a possibility.  But is that how the Bible defines belief?  And if the devil believes in God and Jesus, then why does the Bible teach that he is destined for hell?  In this podcast, Andy addresses these questions, in part by providing the biblical definition of (a saving) belief.

As we deal with the emotional struggles and stresses of life, we all too often develop coping mechanisms which are unhealthy and even counterproductive.  Though it is easy to try and convince ourselves that sexual attraction and activity is normal for adults, it is also a trap those struggling with emotional stability can fall into.  In this podcast, Andy gives a poignant example of two individuals who thought they were engaged in such activity in an empowering way who were actually lying to themselves about the purpose and impact of what they were doing.

Could there have been enough water in the time of Noah to have covered the entire earth?  If so, where did the water come from and where did it go?  Scripture directly answers both these questions, though not in the same book in the Bible.  In this podcast, we will look at the account in Genesis and some of God's commentary in one of the Psalms to retrieve the straightforward answer.
