Week 4 reaction: Clemson at crossroads; sluggish Sooners & Arkansas is for real

Week 4 reaction: Clemson at crossroads; sluggish Sooners & Arkansas is for real

Andy and Ari adjust their slacken jaws enough to rave about an unforgettable fourth week of the college football season. Clemson's stunning loss to NC State, which isn't totally shocking if you listened to Friday's podcast, places them squarely outside the CFP discussion, right? Andy has "zero confidence" in Oklahoma right now. Is it warranted, and will the Sooners even win the Big 12? Arkansas is for real, but are they real enough to test Georgia? Plus, Cincinnati was Saturday's biggest winner; where does UNC go from here; an Ohio State player, apparently, quits mid-game and tweets to his team, and Andy avoids eating the chip of death.

Rogue nannies are the worst, amirite? Andy and Ari discuss the biggest scandal in the Wasserman household to date before trying to pin down if Wake Forest is for real or not. Could NC State get the best of Clemson? Jack Coan returns to Wisconsin in the eponymous "Jack Coan Bowl", where the Fighting Irish's signal-caller will take on Graham Mertz. How do the guys view each of these QBs? The outcome of Saturday's Mississippi State game could determine the remainder of LSU's season. Would a victory over Texas A&M be considered a "program-defining win" for Arkansas? Is Michigan State a Big Ten East title contender?

Mostly Good, Some Really Bad

Ari, Andy, and Nicole are all really, really great. I look forward to hearing them every week. This Michael Felder guy is the worst though. After an incredibly exciting first weekend, we have to hear a whole episode of him complaining that it was too much work.. have some humility and realize this is a lot of sports fans’ dream jobs, and that we want to hear about the games on a podcast that is supposed to be about the games. And then his tirade about “well technically” the jacksonville state game wasn’t a hail mary. No one cares. A CFB podcaster should know the X’s and O’s but realize fans would rather hear about how great the play was rather than how it technically wasn’t a hail mary. The smartest guy in the room shtick gets old fast. Also, this podcast has way too long of ads. The artifact one is a tough listen and considering it’s on every week I don’t see why it can’t be shortened at least half the time..

Don’t let my venting talk you out of the podcast though. Ari and Andy have great banter and their bets are hilarious. They also really know their football. Nicole also brings a great attitude and knows what people want to hear.

Great work

You do a great job at analyzing games (even if you hate my teams). Y’all are best in the biz

A great part of my week

Andy and Ari's chemistry is great. I look to listening to them every week. The best is the recap show for Sunday morning: when we're driving back from road tripping to a game, even my wife enjoys listening. A great podcast overall
