The Anna Report Anna Kachikyan

While Mike and I are both single with no children, we can’t help to wonder how couples (especially those with children) are handling the new normal of staying home? How are they staying Covid-19 safe? How has the coronavirus effected their livelihood? 
We invited different couples with different backgrounds to join us live on The Anna Report – they share with us how they’re coping with quarantine life. 
One couple is married four years with a newborn (meet Missak and Rita Tokhmanian), another couple have been married for nearly 32 years with two grown adult children (Mher and Sossy Tavidian), and our other couple is married for 12 years with two young kids (Dax and Denise Holt). 
This conversation should be proof to everyone that we’re all humans dealing with similar issues. We are not in this alone and everyone can sympathize with one another.

This week’s episode is cut into two parts.
We first start with a live guest who joins us to show us how to property disinfect surfaces during coronavirus pandemic. Arman Semerjian is the co-founder of Sono Health Care. They manufacture the Sono Disinfecting Wipes that both Mike and I have been using to keep ourselves safe from germs and bacteria during Covid-19 outbreak. It’s important to watch and listen to see how we are all supposed to disinfect the dirtiest thing we use every day…our cellphones! 
Then we get into our topic for the week…ghosting vs. social distancing.
Being in quarantine is a legit reason to turn down a date. So while single people aren’t allowed to physically date, then does this mean that people will stop ghosting and use social distancing as their reasoning to stop talking to someone?
Mike has a different theory and our live audience weighs in, while I have a totally different opinion on all this.
We end the show with more banter about the word “sure”. Seems like we will never stop talking about it since it’s an unresolved dilemma at this point. Surely, we’re not taking it seriously. We’re having fun with it while we entertain our audience.

This week we had an important topic to go over -- the Do’s and Don’ts of social media from a male and a female.
But we got sidetracked with pooping, peeing, and the word “sure”.
I promise you though, we eventually get to the topic. You just have to brave through the poop and pee talk first (or you can fast forward if laughing is not your jam).
We ask the following questions and get right into it…
Is social media ruining modern day relationships?
Can couples use social media to their benefit?
Are couples entitled to their own privacy when in a relationship?
Should couples share social media accounts?
When do you announce to your followers about your new boo?

The questions are ENDLESS and Mike and I tackled them to the best of our abilities given how we’re both single.

Breakups.
Two weeks in a row we’re coming atcha with loaded topics.
But this week, I promise, it’s out of my hands.
Here’s the thing, our goal is to slowly begin to include our viewers in our dialogue. As intended, a long-time viewer of The Anna Report made a comeback and agreed to come on the show with us to share his story.
Too bad it’s not a happy or fun call but rather a call about a breakup.
As a matter of fact, we have two callers this week and they’re both about breakups.
If you’re going through a breakup, about to breakup with your SO, or have experienced a breakup where you physically feel in pain – here’s your chance to tune in and empathize and realize for yourself, that you are not alone.

Gender roles. Loaded topic, I know. 

Today was Kobe and Gigi Bryant’s memorial.
Originally, the topic for today was going to be “Should we stay friends with our exes?”
But after watching the memorial, I postponed that topic for next Monday. 

I felt more passionate to talk about gender roles. 
I know Mike and I share a similar stance on gender roles but we’re also very aware that the rest of the world does not share the same opinions as us and that’s OK! As a matter of fact, we welcome the different opinions. 

Many career women are aggravated by men. They want a man to step up and lead…while a man pursuing a career woman might actually think she prefers to lead.

I think there are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to this topic because we don’t actually talk about it with each individual that we’re pursuing. 

I sure do…I always ask a man questions to get a feel for his views on gender roles. If he thinks EVERYTHING must be 50/50, I’m out. That man isn’t for me. (If you’ve been watching The Anna Report long enough, you’ll know that I am against the 50/50 ideology. I believe in 100/100 partnership/marriage/friendship). 

I hope more men would step up and ask the woman they have an intention of dating questions to clarify the mutual understanding of gender roles. Don’t be afraid to walk away even if she’s got all the physical attributes that your big guy down under desires.  

We do not live in our grandparent’s era where we are born into given gender roles. We must write our own individual rules for our own selves and the relationships we choose to be in. Let’s also keep in mind that sometimes our views can change and evolve and that’s OK too!

If Kobe was born in the 1930s and pushed so hard to be a girl dad…do you think he would have been just as embraced or he would have been made fun of?

Do you think men are aggressive and women are submissive? 
Do you think men are independent while women are dependent?
Are men dominant and women subservient?
Is it true that men are active and women are passive?
Do you think men are cruel and women are kind?

These are traditional gender stereotypes but are they true?
For some people, they might be true. For others only a couple of those are true…and for others these traditional stereotypes are a joke.

Truth is, there is a lot of confusion and I believe the only way to lessen the confusion is if we keep talking about it. 

So in this episode of The Anna Report live…Mike and I talked about gender roles.

What are the signs that you’re dating a mature woman? In this episode of The Anna Report live show, we talk about the ways in which we can identify a mature woman…either within ourselves or the women in our lives.

Mike has been persistently requesting that we get a guest to join us Monday nights…while I’ve been persistently trying to figure out the logistics.

I regularly follow @momfident_women on Instagram because she shares extremely insightful and useful tools for parents, especially moms.

As a man, Mike is going to want to know ways in which he can identify the mature women from the immature ones…while I’m going to identify the mature and less mature characteristics within myself as woman.
