#191 - Will Basta presents the next best opportunity to make money! He caught my attention.
Will Basta was born in New York and graduated from Arizona State University. After
an initial career in health tech, Will went on to work for tech startups; building out
sales strategy and marketing teams. He found his passion as an entrepreneur in the passive income world.
While invested in the e-commerce industry he found that most of the companies
out there at that time were not set up for a long term success and saw a
gap in the industry of a model that was there which could've been executed better, along with his partner knew they could improve this model, leading them to create Ascend Ecom, an e-commerce automation agency and investment management company, the only company in the industry capable of mixing up logistics, wholesale distribution, and e-commerce growth all into one.
Just with 2 years in the business, he's made Ascend Ecom a company comprised
of 300+ clients, two warehouses in Dallas, 100's of employees, and millions of monthly revenue.
#190 - The James Bond of Sales Simon Leslie takes on a flight of business strategy
Simon Leslie is founder and chief executive of Ink, a global travel media company. At the onset of the pandemic, Simon’s business plummeted from projections of earning $150 million to nothing, almost overnight. How he has been able to work his company back to the top is an incredible story of grit, creativity, and resilience.
As a mentor and serial investor to multiple young entrepreneurs he also coaches worn out business leaders how to live the life of their dreams. Over the last 30 years he has dedicated his skill to creating amazing media in the travel space. He is a world record holder for the amount of inflight magazines he has launched and published. With over 250 million copies of magazines published in the last 30 years he knows a thing or two about crafting travel media. His clients include major airlines, airports and travel groups. In 2018 he helped build ReachTV into the biggest airport TV network in the world.
#189 - Kate DiLeo wants us to "Have more conversations" in Business
Message from Kate:
I am an “accidental brand strategist” who originally intended to pursue a PhD in Anthropology, yet discovered the power of branding during my first sales job. In the pursuit of making quota, I realized I needed to cut through the noise with a message that would compel prospects to want to have a conversation. It was that, or I was out of a job.
I overcame, honed my craft, and went on to successfully manage millions in pipeline by throwing out the long monologue sales scripts and unsubscribing leads from complex story-based marketing campaigns. Instead, I delivered a simple pitch that invited prospects to engage in a compelling conversation by sharing what I did, how I could solve their problem, and how I differed from the competition.
That pitch, which I call, “The Brand Trifecta,” is rooted in my firm belief that brand is the path of least resistance to revenue. The ability to clearly articulate these three points offers the prospect all the information they need to opt in and say, “Now that’s interesting. I want to have a conversation.” Throughout my career in both agency and corporate settings, I pursued my branding side hustle until 2019, when I turned it into my full-time business.
I am honored to have worked with more than 200 brands across 20 sectors, and I am passionate about partnering with founder-led organizations that desire to craft an authentic, purpose-driven message to effectively get more prospects to the table, more users who click, and more customers who buy.

Start Your Engines
I never listened to Podcast but my wife convinced me that they were the equivalent of audio books. She got me earbuds and Providence brought me Jim Riley and The Answer is Yes!
While many people my age are content to chase golf balls, I feel like I’m just getting started. The interview style that Jim comes by naturally is inviting and elicited the nuggets we all need to hear to stay, focused, sharp and motivated.
In over 60 years I never had a mentor, now I have hundreds! If you want to be in the race, you’ve got to start your engine and “The Answer is Yes” is the KEY!
Feel good and inspiring!
Love this Podcast! Each time it’s a little different and it motivates you to be a better person. Great listening and look forward to each new episode!
